My Texas drawl was noticeably stronger just hanging out with these guys.

We’ll just have to look through the fence! haha!

We all have our own ideas of what other states look like. While I live on the northern plains of Colorado, I as sure that most picture The Garden Spot in the Colorado Rockies and that I naturally ski. Not even remotely true. So likewise, I picture Florida sunny and beachy with palm trees and alligators. Your beautify photos show a whole new look to florida. Aren't those long horns grand.
I'm not used to seeing steer, just milk cows without horns. Beautiful ranch, what a lovely drive!

They are magnificent.
They are interesting!! we use to call them Cracker cows - but these seem to have larger horns. Appears to be central Fla. lovely and green. Nice seeing the windmills. They use to use them to pump the water for the orange groves and cattle.
Yes we have lots of cattle here in Florida. As a matter of fact, that is where the term Florida Crackers came from. The ranchers used some kind of whip that would make the sound of cracking on a cattle drive. So the native Floridians are often called Crackers. There are cattle called Florida Crackers, but I believe they have shorter horns. So these that you are showing are more in line in the Texas Longhorn family. (I used to know the name of these, but can't remember right now :-(
Ma'am you may be "udderly" amazed to hear that "them thar's" steers and not cows at all. Wrong "equipment" ;-)
Dosen't seem like Florida alright. The fields are green fields are certainly gorgeous. I would love to vacation there.

We took this photo in North Central Florida, South of Gainesville. I looked up the Florida Crackers cattle and the Texas Longhorns and these definitely look more like Texas Longhorns. Thanks for your comment Happy Cottage Quilter. And Keetha...there were boys and girls in this herd. I think there was only one bull in that field. They actually didn't seem very scary or aggressive. They probably thought I was there to feed them.

Longhorns! Who would expect those in Florida! When we first came I was actually quite surprised that there was as much farm country as there is.
I have to admit I have seen those particular steer during my days in FL! But not often. Such great pictures! Ann
We had some LONG HAIR COWS north of our home in WI!! Those were fun to see also! I sure didn't expect to see these Long Horns in FL. We lived in Grandbury, TX many moons ago.. I did like Texas!
