It’s always fun to take photos of wildlife and we have a lot of opportunities here in Florida. But the photos need a little ‘tweaking’ when you get home!
I love using PicMonkey AND IPICCY to ‘tweak’ my photos.
This black squirrel was a rare siting here in our community.
I made a quick run to the store, without my camera.
But I was able to drive into the driveway, grab the camera and get back before he scampered away.
(we think to play a round of golf!)
Doesn’t he look like a bear in this photo?
I’m joining Brenda at the Cozy Little Housefor Tweak it Tuesday.
Have you ever seen a black squirrel?

I had to scroll back up because I thought I read squirrel and then I thought I saw a bear. The final picture almost looks like a beaver. What an interesting creature. The most interesting in our yard are the raccoons who don't seem to be afraid of us at all.
Love it Girlfriend.
I have never seen a black squirrel till now.
Thank you
And he so does look like a bear.
Too cool.
Woolie hugs
I did think that was a bear at first. I have never seen a black squirrel. We have brown and gray ones.

He is a beauty and he might be older since he has signs of white on his nose and ears. We have a black squirrel who visits our garden upon occasion.
No, I have never seen a black squirrel. He is a handsome fellow...and yes, he does look like a bear!
Oh my goodness, it does look like a bear. Yikes. :) I have never seen a black squirrel but I sure enjoy it all through your fun photographs.

Not only have I never seen one, I didn't even know there was such a thing. What great photos you got. When your blog post opened, I thought that was a bear, but the picture was taken at a distance. I was shocked to learn that it was a squirrel. He's cute! Thanks for educating me, Diane. laurie
Aww I love her too..the sweety squirrel looks like a Beary friend..lol
Love and hugs x
It does look like a bear, we see a few black squirrels around here, but they don't look that big!! Southern air must be good for them!!
Aww he/she is so sweet Diane!
We don't have squirrels in New Zealand so I'm totally fascinated by them!
I wonder how his game went?!

I do not recall Kent University's black squirrels to be so big Diane! My, what a sight! Glad you caught it on photo and thanks for sharing!
It DOES look like a bear...with a long tail. I've never seen a black squirrel..didn't even know they came in that color. :) Neat!
That squirrel sure looks big!
We do have black squirrels here, but they are so much smaller than yours.
I love pic monkey too.
Thank you so much for the cards, they mean more than you know !
That squirrel sure does look like a bear from far away... We have ONE squirrel who calls our place his home and he keeps all the rest of them away.. VBG Hugs Judy
This squirrel had me wondering if it was a mini-bear or if it was real!! Kinda reminds me of CaddyShack! No, I have never seen a black squirrel-what a fun and interesting post!
Happy Hugs,
Jemma
Oh My Goodness, that is Amazing! I wonder how it got there, if you do not have them in your area. I think that places like Michigan have Black Squirrels, and I think this one does look at first like a little bear...wonderful that you get grab some images before it took off~
I have never seen a black squirrel, except in Blogland! Great shots, Diane. xo
I have never seen a black one. He is a a fine fella. I have scads of the regular ones:}
It does look like a mini bear - just shorten the tail. :D I also have never seen a black squirrel. Got an overload of the grey/brownish ones here that I wish would relocate. :( They are so destructive.
Thanks for stopping by. I am hoping the hydrangea was cut down because it had died or badly damaged, and not a case of "just because".
Enjoy your evening.
OMG he looks like a cross between a squirrel and bear. SO CUTE

What timing! Yes, I did just a couple of days ago! In all the years we've lived here I had not seen one. So you can imagine my surprise when we pulled into our driveway and one scurried up the tree in front of our house! Kinda creepy! I hope that is not a bad omen like a black cat! LOL
Those are great pictures. He sure is a cute little fella. I have tried PicMonkey, but not the other. I will have to try that on out. my other favorite is BeFunky. Hope you are doing great.
Blessings,
Susie
I forgot to say that we have black squirrels in the mountains here in Colorado. Sometimes, I see some in Colorado Springs, but usually just brown ones everywhere else.

I really did think it was a bear when I first looked. Wow.
It does look like a little black bear! I've only seen black squirrels at the zoo. I have seen deer and rabbits on a golf course, and my boss saw a coyote on a golf course when he went out west to golf!
Hi Diane, Oh what cute pics. Sure does look like a little bear. I saw my first black squirrel 2 years ago. Love your inspiring header. I use picmonkey too along with Photoscape.
Have fun and a great week.

I had a black squirrel drown in my pool in North Carolina. It was my only siting of one and it was definitely not fun getting it out :(
Lovely wildlife pictures Diane.

He looks so cute and I'm sure he is quite the expert at golf :)
Hugs,
Margaret
Diane, he does look like a bear! Yes, I've seen black squirrels. They were in Westfield, MA years ago. Not sure if they still are in that area.
This year we have very few chipmunks - very unusual.
~Judy
We actually have them here & saw one last month when we took kid-lings to the park. What a cutie, & he does look like a bear.
Have a safe & lovely holiday, my friend.

Good Afternoon Diane, Well I never, I have never seen such a thing. I didn't know a black squirrel existed. At first I thought I was looking at a bear in the distance, but when you said it was a black squirrel, I did a double take..... he is fabulous.
I hope he enjoyed his round of golf!
Best Wishes
Daphne
I have never seen a black squirrel!! Love it! Looks like a little black bear indeed... like the ones we used to get at the Ringling Brothers circus, a little stuffed animal. Do you remember those? and the little hand held light?
Hey there! I thought of this post last night, while watching a show on NC PBS, when the guy was talking about the FOX SQUIRRELS that live here in NC, and that they come in many different colors, including black. The one they showed looked just like the one in your photo! They are bigger than the average grey squirrels we're used to, "the 'godzilla' squirrel" as he called it. I have never seen one, though. Just thought I'd share what I learned! <3
I thought of you and this post last night, while watching a show on UNCTV, in which the guy was talking about FOX SQUIRRELS that live in NC. He said that they are bigger than the average gray squirrel, "the godzilla of squirrels," he said. They come in different colors, including black, like the one in your photo. I thought it was quite interesting, esp. since you just posted these photos a couple of days ago! Just thought I'd share! <3
How adorable - I've never seen a black squirrel- on first glance I thought a bear was gearing up for a round of golf :)
