I couldn’t resist taking a photo of myself at the park this week. I look like I’m saluting but as all of you can guess, I was taking photos!
I don’t often get a good photo of a bird so I was pleased to get this one of our State Bird, the Mockingbird.
And someone asked me about Florida’s state flower, it is the orange blossom.
Everyone who was concerned about our humidity being 82% yesterday will be pleased to know it did actually rain. A nice, much needed rain for us, which means the humidity was 100% at the time. Florida does have higher humidity than a lot of places but regardless of where you live, when it rains the relative humidity reaches 100%. I think that got lost in 'my translation’ yesterday.
According to Wikipedia :
“Relative humidity is an important metric used in weather forecasts and reports, as it is an indicator of the likelihood of precipitation, dew, or fog.”
Are you having a nice weekend?
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday,
and Amaze me Monday!

I know that people that have never lived in FL believe that it is always humid and miserable there....but....I will take staying inside on the hottest humid summer days in trade off for nine months of beautiful weather. Here, we are inside running our heat at least 7 to 8 months out of the year.
Great pictures!~ I SALUTE you!!! xo Diana
Have a nice day sweetie!
Beautiful weather here if you like winter! =D
I like your shadow standing at attention that way. And you did get some fine captures.
Here we can pick an apple right from the tree, or a peach, even a pear, and cherries. The flavors are natural and pure and I so much want to taste a tree ripened orange. I see the King Maker's Daugher in your Stack. Once you have read that, you will want to read the other 3 in the series. They are historically accurate with Gregory taking some literary liberties, which
She explains in her notes.
Terrific photos - I've seen one Mockingbird in my life, and that was down in Southern Utah in May of 2013.
I have been looking for that formula..LOL. Don't you just love hearing a mockingbird?? I used to hear them in Kentucky when I would visit my sister. She now lives in IN. The Orange blossom sure makes since for Florida. Enjoy your wonderful Sunday, xoxo,Susie
orange blossoms, sunshine, shadows. nice!
I can just smell those orange blossoms--what a beautiful day to photograph!
I know that you are always "camera ready." LOL! I love your latest captures!
I love shadow pictures. We had mocking birds in our bougainvillea hedge in Los Angeles. I loved it when they used to imitate our cats' meows.
You are so so cute. That is how I dress in the Spring and Summer and then in my shorts and a bathing suit BUT with a cover up even though we have our own in ground pool. I am on nutri-system and have lost some weight but I am 5'2", I don't like being short, LOL! I love seeing those yummy oranges!!!!!
PLEASE like I asked you send some nice weather to us here in Mass. if you can.
Enjoy your AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL Sunday
sweet friend.
Big Hugs,
Tricia
I never understand all of that. I do love your blue skies though!
Love your shadow photo! I know about humidity...it can be so uncomfortable but hey at least it rained! Enjoy your Sunday sweet Sis!
Hugs, Linda
Happy to hear that humidity turned into something good!
I love that orange photo
Your camera was really ready, awesome shots! That mockingbird is beautiful and love the orange blossom shot! That one of you, that is pretty cool!
Have a great day!
Nancy
Mockingbirds are very neat. We spotted one here several years ago. Was he lost? Love your orange blossom picture.
Right now I'm mad at Fla.'s state bird. We have the mocking bird here is Atlanta and Mrs. MB is building a nest outside our bedroom window. Mrs. MB must be a night owl, because she is up at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning squawking!! I promised her that I would go rattle her nest in the bush this morning and wake her up!! Let me go do that right now!! They are noisy neighbors!!
I'm dreaming of spring rains and sweet smelling blossoms after seeing your post. We have mountains of snow and single digit temperatures predicted all week long. The girls will continue to enjoy our backyard ice rink a few weeks longer.
So far so good Diane: IT HAS NOT YET RAINED!!
Hugs,
Diane, lovely photos of your state bird and flower, the latter is one of my favourite scents ever; so sweet and heavenly and we are surrounded by it every spring!
Glad you got some rain; we also are in need of it and hope the skies are sensitive to our wish.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
Poppy
Hi Diane! Cute snap of your shadow! I really do understand about the humidity as we have it hear too. We've been running the AC for the last week. Even though the high humidities make the heat hotter, the high humidity helps us age better! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Pretty pictures! Looks like you're enjoying beautiful spring-like weather even with the rain. It's been gorgeous out here, but much needed rain in the forecast.
Love the mockingbird!
my mother adored them..she had a few that visited daily...one actually made meowing sounds like our cats.
lately I can hear mocking birds out in the trees every night, let's me know that spring is here:)
your pictures are lovely my friend.
glad it rained yesterday!!
see you soon:)
Great selfie :) Have a wonderful week. Jen
Oh, just look at all that green!
Jane x
Congrats on your Mocker photo. Very nice! I love the shadow shot! Nice park and the orange looks delicious. So glad you had some much needed rain. Enjoy your week ahead!
Lovely !!...have a nice week darling....x !
Oh I wish we would get rain-we are in a severe drought and water restrictions even during the Winter. Of course Texas is in the plains, but we really used to get rain!
Lovely pictures!
Happy Hugs,
Jemma
Hi Diane,
Your pictures are great, as always. I think orange blossoms are sooo pretty! I can see why so many brides like to use them in their bouquets. :)
We have many Mockingbirds here. Unfortunately, they are bad to bully the other birds, which really frustrates me at the bird feeders.
I'm visiting from Mosaic Monday -- hope you have a wonderful week!!
Big hugs,
Denise
Is that known as a shadow selfie Diane? LOL
We drove to Orlando on Saturday to have lunch with my aunt and uncle who live in a really nice gated community. It poured rain a couple of times while there and then the sun was out when we left.
I must say the humidity has been playing havoc with my hair.
What a great silhouette, Diane! I never realized you were so tall. lol :)
~Judy
Hi Diane...we can actually see our green grass right now, since the snow all melted...but I've heard we might get a little more this coming week.
My best friend that lives in Florida is visiting up here in Ohio...and I'm pretty sure that she is missing being back home where there is no snow.
hugs,
Cindy
Diane, the lack of humidity here in CA has been one of our biggest adjustments! I love the dryer air, but I now realize that our sinuses fared much better with that humidity! Love your pictures - today we headed to South SoCal and I had a wave of homesickness as a couple of places we stopped brought back memories of Honeymoon Island, Dunedin, FL and St. Pete area. Then I would turn around and there would be mountains behind me - end of dream sequence. I will have some pictures up later this week I hope. I always love to stop by here and have a taste of 'home'. Ann
Great weekend for you name mate! The mocking bird was perfectly captured. I love it!
Thanks for forever linking up name mate :) Wishing you a great week ahead.
What a great picture of the bird!
Even though I hate humidity, I'd welcome some right about now.
How cool.
I love it friend.
Hmmmm orange blossoms.
Have a wonderful week
Woolie Blessings & HUGS
I love to hear your mockingbird sing! One or two come up here to Pa. in the summer. Rare ....but when they sing we stop in awe.
Very nice presentation, even with the humidity. I didn't know what the state bird was before this. Now is such a beautiful time there. Great self portrait! Did you get the water color to work?
Beautiful pics!
Blessings :-)
Diane,
This is so funny that you mentioned your state flower because I just did a post about our state flower. The flower that represents your state is lovely, and I love the picture of the bird.
Have a happy week.
Love,
~Sheri
looks and sounds like you are having a spring.. we are still deep in snow. my inlaws are there in newport richy, i should visit! love seeing your pictures and hearing of your outings! enjoy
If this snow doesn't stop flying, I will be knocking at your door very soon! LOL! Love your photos!
XO
Linda
My dear hubby would really love to move to FL. I just don't want to leave my family but I would really love to live there because of the weather.
I like your shadow salute, the orange blossom, the bird...all your photos are nice! I'd love to get a whiff of the orange blossom scent!
I like your mosaic!
Are you singing, "Me and My Shadow?"
I'm looking at your pictures with a mix of admiration and envy (as usual!) Beautiful but I want to be in your warm temps. :)
Susan
Oh is there anything sweeter than orange blossoms?
Have a great week my friend.
Diane, I haven't seen rain in so long, I've forgotten what it looks like. It is just plain springtime around here. My daffodils are starting to open and flowering cherry are in full bloom. That usually means that just at their peak we will get rain and then everything is beaten down. It never works the right way!!! Happy Tuesday..Judy
That is a beautiful capture of the bird!
AND your lovely shadow..Miss Statue of Florida Liberty :)
Ha ha OK Diane, we were thinking the same thing this week. I was taking images of a Belted Kingfisher, when I saw my shadow in the creek. I shared on FB and will share on here as soon as I get a post written. I am so far behind on everything and trying to get Google to upload my images is such a hard thing. I do have a young man who will be helping me figure out the problem soon~
Those orange blossoms and oranges look sooo good! Glad you got some rain. Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY...
Blessings,
Cindy
