Thrift Store pretties, Now and Then

Here’s what I found at the thrift store this week.

IMG_2706

(everything is on my washer to get cleaned and the linens soaked)

There are always pretty crochet doilies and napkins and they are just 10 cents each.

One of my favorite finds was this linen with sweet deer embroidery on both ends.

A cute old basket that I’ll probably put sewing things into, a small red lantern with a tea light and some tiny wooden shoes!

IMG_2705

I told my girlfriend Kathy at kluless that I had a couple of these pretty crochet hearts so I thought I would show them off, too.

I bought them last year but never showed them off.

Have you found anything special this week?

I'm chuckling to myself because I just posted about how thin the thrift finds have been lately. You did much better!! Cute cross stitch!

Diane, I like your finds. Those little shoes.:):) I love old embroidered pieces. I like to think that some mom sat at the end of her day working on them ...that being her fun thing. Hope you are having a wonderful first day of Spring.Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Great finds! I especially like those little wooden shoes. I have had slim pickins' lately. As it gets warmer the yard sales will start up and maybe then I can find some goodies. Those crocheted hearts are really pretty, lots of work in those.

Blessings

What I found this week is a super sale on Lego sets for my grandsons, but that's not what your blog is about! :)
I am so glad that you rescue these lovely pieces of hand work that are thoughtlessly (my opinion!) discarded by (probably) children or grandchildren of the women who lovingly nurtured them into life. My grandmother made things like this. I still have my share of them and would never give away or sell them!

I am green with envy, I want your thrift shop! So much fun, and I'm never this lucky, it seems. Or else I just don't have the same honed vintage eye. So you ever re-sell things you find?

Oh Diane, you are one lucky gal to find such lovely items! I have never found doilies at my thrift shop though I keep looking :) Beautiful items, and the items from last year are so fresh and pretty.

Hugs to you, sweet friend!

You always find some pretty things. It's been a busy week at work but I'm hoping to get in some thrifting and crafting time. Your tiny wooden shoes are darling. Holland MI is less than an hour away and it's always fun to take the girls to see the windmills and tulips.

Love your doilies and little hearts.

Oh, I'm loving those beautiful doilies and the sweet deer embroidery! The pansy one is like a pair that I have and love -- they were made by my mother and are in purple and yellow. The cross stitch is really cute too :)
Those hearts are amazing... I can't imagine doing all that folding and pressing after you've done all the crochet!!
Oh, and I have the big sister to your basket -- cross stitch goodies are stored in it!

Not for those prices! Wowzer. Florida is a great place to shop the flea markets.

Going to thrift stores is so much fun - I love to do that as well, but try to limit it mainly to books. However, I would have taken that basket and red lantern, too. The Dutch shoes are cute.

You found some real treasures, Diane. Those little wooden shoes are precious.
I love it when I find good quality vintage linens at the thrift shops. I found a pretty tablecloth in blue and yellow with no stains or flaws. Score!!

Diane, lovely treasures! I haven't been hunting in a while but hope to in the next few weeks. I especially love your little home sweet home pillow.

Sweet finds for you this week! Those are cute little shoes. I found a nice red crock type container. Not sure what I'll do with it, it's too big to put utensils in, so maybe I'll just use it as a planter. I also found another cookbook to add to my collection. Happy Spring!

Love the red napkins! You always find great things. I think what you said about people moving there and purging there possessions is really true.

Having a give away in honor of spring. Come by. :)

Diane,
I love the 'home sweet home' because HOME is so special to me. Your crocheted hearts and doilies are lovely. They remind me of my grandmother's doilies that were handed down to me.

It's always fun seeing your goodies at the thrift shop.

Happy first day of Spring!

love,
~Sheri

Love the linens you found. I was there twice this week dropping things off and did take a quick tour of the kitchen things. I am making every effort not to buy anything during this month. I realize I have so much and am focused on decluttering, but it is a temptation.

See that little basket you have there? I have one just like it and it came with a kids' picnic set in it for their dolls. I love it!

You found some great things and I just love that little embroidered deer piece. xo Diana

I never find neat stuff like that at the thrift store and it's way more expensive than yours too! I love the old linens and crocheted dresser scarves. You got some really gret items.
