What a beautiful bird!

The Flamingo!

flamIMG_2143

We drove over to the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park this weekend to walk around and see what was new. And we saw some amazing sights but nothing more beautiful than the flamingos.

IMG_2109

Just LOOK across the way!

Now let’s walk over there!

flamIMG_2091

I know many are having another round of winter weather and I hope you are all warm and safe.

flamIMG_2142

We’ve been fortunate to have a mild winter and everything is pretty and green.

flamIMG_2145

And the flamingos are a shade of color all their own!

flamIMG_2146

Enjoy your day my friends!

And remember…everybody SHARE!!!

They are such beautiful birds, Diane! I've seen them only in a zoo. And, of course, the odd plastic pink one in someone's front yard. lol

Wow!!!!!!! that is one magnificent colored bird, beautiful pictures, Blessings Francine.

I've always been fascinated by their color and the different shades each bird can take on with their diet of shrimp. Our lovely Spring-like weather is changing today with this cold front, but as I've learned living here..."if you don't like the weather today, wait until tomorrow!" XOXO

They are really amazing. Yes, I have seen them at a zoo, but it's been many years.

Flamingos are such a shocking colour of pinky/orange and so funny to watch them eating. Love your kitties, hubby is allergic to them, perfect for my place. Have a great week:)

Good Afternoon Diane, The Flamingos are such a vibrant colour and so very beautiful.
When I lived in Cyprus, we had a salt lake close by, and each year, when the rains arrived, the flamingos would fly over from North Africa. They would feed from the salt lake and then when the salt lake dried up they would make their way to the north of the island. To hear a flock of flamingos flying over our house was truly a noisy affair and the first time we heard them, we could not make head nor tail of what was making such a noise, that is until we looked skyward. It was truly a magical sight to see the flamingos flying overhead.
Best Wishes
Daphne

We've only looked at flamingos in the zoo. Josie was obsessed with flamingos a few years ago and we even had a flamingo-themed birthday party. You always have the best adventures.

Hi Diane, Love the flamingos and yes I have seen them. Such gorgeous birds. Your pics are beautiful. So nice to see on our cold day here in Texas. We had ice yesterday and freezing temps. Very unusual for us. So ready for springtime.

We have flamingoes at a zoo just 20 minutes from me. I think it's cool that they get their colour from their food. Lovely shots of these pretty birds ... and yes, it does help to dispel the fact that we are back into the deep freeze and snow again :P Wendy x

Stunning!! I've only seen them at our local zoo and Disney World and they truly are a color all their own.

I have seen flamingos. Pretty and unusual looking birds. Poor things have gotten a bad rap from the pink plastic ones hanging around. :D
Thanks for stopping by. The prediction was right this time - got the ice, sleet, snow and bitter cold temps. Bring on Spring!
Enjoy your evening.

I have only seen them in Las Vegas, which doesn't really count - lol! I have a collection of vintage flamingo figurines and one (not an old one) is a salmon color. I never liked it too much because I thought they are always pink. Now I know the truth!
