I like to make the entrance to my home inviting.
And I tend to do the same thing every Christmas.
I love a live wreath on the door and my flocked deer on the piece of furniture in the entry.
It’s nice to have some lights (LED lights that don’t get HOT) in a basket that come on with a timer in the evenings.

Yes, we are all decorated and Mom is working up in our craft room.
In our entry we have the Nativity, Mom collected (over the years)the Willow Tree collection and we have just the right place for it in the new house.

Love the basket of lights! I've got most of my decorations up and want to photograph them but it's raining and icky dark today. Oh well, I've got tons of other stuff to do!

We live in an older home. Our entry way right now has my husband's overflow tools...grrr...but until we can build a nice shop for him after we buy this house, I'll have to make due. I'm thinking of putting up a nice burlap curtain/wall so at least it's not seen when someone comes in. I am grateful and can't wait to do the things I want to with this house.

Very beautiful home Diane, I'm feeling much better. About to head out the door for our little towns celebration of Christmas with a parade and fun in the park, crafters and such selling their merchandise. Hoping to find a few Christmas gifts. I much rather buy local than make the big super centers richer.....blessing my dear friend and thanks for your prayers.

How pretty and I the timer idea! I do a room at a time and I still have one room left.
Well it is very nice to come into your home - so friendly and pretty. I love the flocked deer and the lights.
So far we have the Santa Collection and the christmas teapots and cookie jars set out. And the buffet has all Holly dishes on it - so we have begun - and the lights are on the tree - the rest of the decorating will be done next week.
We are having some holiday fun at our house his weekend. Love your sweet deer vignette. Christmas hugs!!!

Well, I hope you find me here at the end of a very long list of fab comments. Spend the day in Denver with my daughter and grandson thrift shopping, not blogging. I would say that guests will feel very welcome in your home the minute they step in the front door. I do like the deer combined with elements from the ocean, a combination that we do not see in these parts. Lovely.

So cute! I started my decorating and have my monkey collection in the entry hall. Snow men and snow globes come out tomorrow.
