Living Life to it’s Fullest!

If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you know I enjoy life. I am blessed and thankful for every day.

But just like everyone else, my life has it’s ups and downs. Some quite literal. Many of you will remember I tripped on a sidewalk earlier this year. The post I wrote is HERE. The sidewalk runs right along the St. John’s River and I was looking out at the river instead of where I was walking. I tripped and fell on my face.

This week when we drove to Canaveral National Seashore, we stopped at this park again (for the first time since my accident) and lo and behold…they had worked on the sidewalk.

(you can tell it has buckled)

They used tools to grind the concrete so there wasn’t quite as much of a step (or gap) from one portion to the next. It still could use some work and probably needs replaced but I was glad to see the improvement. I hope it means others won’t have to endure the pain I did.

I also went to the dentist this week and got a good report. I had worried that my teeth would be permanently damaged. My face is still tender along my cheekbone. But everything looked good. In fact, the dentist and the hygienist both bragged on me. So that is a HUGE relief.

Having said all this…and if you are still reading….I would like to tell you about the workshop Sandy is having…

"Live Your Dream Life Now" workshop on her new blog HERE beginning Monday Nov 2nd.

I’ve taken it before and plan to take it again this year. I’ve learned so much from her in the past. I’m excited to join again and I hope you will too!

We can all find areas for improvement as we strive to live life to the fullest, don’t you agree?

Do you remember the old saying we sang as kids: "Step on a crack, break our momma's back"? True isn't it? Those falls can be so disastrous and life changing, so I am glad that you have healed and that the city decided to fix the crack. I missed your Halloween decorations, so cute. I have to let you know that I am setting aside the dollhouse so that I can do some swinging now. I opened up the cute little dress pattern that you sent me, hoping that fat quarters would be enough enough material. Just barley not. Nor did I have anything suitable in my stash. I will shop the remnants bins. Have a nice week, ahead.

I'm so glad you got a good report! If there is a crack or a gap in the sidewalk, trust me, my feet find it! Thanks so much for the workshop info--it looks really interesting and may be just what I need for this time of year. :-)

Diane, Hooray for the good report. I would have been a mess.. I hate to see bad sidewalks....better to just walk on gravel than run into toe trippers. I have always thought of you as a positive person...even in hard times and dire straights..you strive to rise up. Blessings to you strong lady, xoxo,Susie

Bless your heart. Did you tell anyone in charge when that happened? Sometimes they care and sometimes they don't. Sure am glad you are recovering though.

Sandy mentioned her course to me yesterday. I'm going to take a look. :)

I am glad they worked on that sidewalk but it is too bad that it happened AFTER your fall. I remember how traumatic that was for you. AWFUL!! I am happy your teeth are okay though, but sorry your face is still tender.

I will check out that link! xoDiana

Kind of makes you wonder if someone else had had an accident on that sidewalk besides you Diane. It's good that they have repaired it somewhat. I'm glad you got a good report from the dentist. Sometimes bruising takes a long time to heal. Take care and happy November to you! Hugs. Pam

I DO remember your bad fall! But that sidewalk still needs a little boost to be " even Steven"! ( Auto correct just put a capital S on Steven. ) Oh well.
Thanks for passing on the Workshop info! I didn't give a lot of time to promoting it but people can jump in during the week as well!
Thanks again, Diane! You Rock!

I'm glad you're all healed up and didn't scar your pretty face.

I'm taking Sandy's class too. Enjoy your weekend!!

Wow, I didn't realize how serious that fall was...I thought you were all healed up but then I should know that in my own incidences of just simple scrapes and cuts they take forever to heal and I think Miss Peeps scratches have actually scarred my legs. Isn't it crazy how long it takes now that we're older? I am so sorry you had that fall and that you are still healing from it but also glad it wasn't worse!
Love the clouds there on the cape and also like the invite for the dream seminar. I've done lots of things like that in the past but it's been awhile and it might be nice to have a "refresher course".

I'm so glad that they fixed the sidewalk. So sorry that it's still tender on your face. I love your blog post ps and love looking at the beach. I hope you have a nice week ahead.
We bought so much candy here and not to many kids came to the house. I will give some of the candy each week to my crochet group on Tuesday and when I go to my knitting group on Wednesday!
Well take it easy.

I was shocked to read that you still have some tenderness from that fall! That is terrible. You are brave to be willing to go back. Glad that they have done some work there.

Lorrie said...

I'm glad the powers that be have been working on that sidewalk. And like Vee, I'm surprised that you are still bearing the effects that fall. I'm glad you're healing and that your dentist is so happy!

So glad you got a good report from the dentist. And good that they fixed that sidewalk - so dangerous. I'll go over and take a look at the class - it sounds so interesting. We had a lovely ride today - sunshine, clouds. raom by the bucket full, more sunshine - and we saw lots and lots of migrating ducks. Then my camera broke - boo hoo - it will be gone for 2 to 6 weeks - it went to Connecticut to the camera doctor. Hope it gets a good report too.

I am glad all is healing well! My brother tripped on an uneven sidewalk last year and broke his shoulder in 13 places....I'm guessing uneven sidewalks are the cause of many falls!

I am glad they fixed that sidewalk Diane. I remember when you fell. I too had some worries about teeth issues when I fell face first into a wall in my home. Fortunately everything is ok. Loved the pictures of the deer!!

What a beautiful view. I long to go to the ocean sometimes. I hope you're doing much better after you took that fall. Those things take time to heal.

Have a wonderful week.

Glad the sidewalk was somewhat fixed, Diane. That can be very dangerous, as you found out. I'm also glad that you healed well--hopefully the residual pain will slowly disappear!

I sure do remember when you wrote about that nasty fall ... Talk about literal "down" times. I'm so glad you didn't have permanent dental troubles because of it and hope the facial tenderness goes away soonest rather than later. Glad they fixed that darn sidewalk. Heck, I might want to visit there someday. (Reminds me to be careful in my city walks here. Some of the sidewalks are in terrible condition. )
