These were taken at Homosassa Wildlife Park here in Florida.
We've been several times and usually see the bear at a distance.
But this time he came up close enough to get some good photos.
Nice to have a tall fence or two to peer through.
Well, I guess not everyone is afraid of him.
Looks like his pals, Mr. Heron and Mrs. Egret are visiting him today. They're not talking about him behind his back, are they?
I sure HOPE not!
I'm joining Tex for the
I hope everyone has improving weather this week.
What's it like at your house?

Really like bears! Thanks for sharing the cool pics! No snow here (for once).
Hello, I love the bears. They are one of my favorite critters. The last shot with the bear, heron and egret is cool. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
Quite amazing how different species seem to get along when we think that they would be natural enemies. I have to comment on your crocheting efforts in the last post. By the time I got around to visiting, I was way down at the bottom of a very nice long list. I have lots of failures, too. Those little things are very hard to get right, so I give up. Right now I am working an a dress for a doll. It's my 3rd start. I may have it this time. Keep on trying.
I love seeing ears. I would love to see one in the wild but only at a dentist. I always look as we drive into the mountains in Colorado. Hugs
Yes, tall and heavy duty fences please. :) Goodness, the herons seem to be fearless.
Diane, Those are great pictures. I thought the first shot of the bear was not real. But he is very real and scary. Yes thankful for tall fences. LOL. You get the greatest shots. Blessings to you for a fun day. xoxo,Susie
oooo lovely bears..thank you for sharing the sweet pictures x
I'm with you, I like a good tall fence between me and bears! I'm just down the road from Homosassa Wildlife Park! Maybe someday we can meet for a picnic!
isn't he a beauty!!
Hello Dreamer, long time since I was blogging regularly, glad to back. We don't see many bears in Ky. but I bet there are some. Well maybe at the zoo. These photos are great. Wish I was in Florida now.
Those guys come and visit my trash cans every now and then. So far I've never run into one. Weather is sunny and gorgeous, rain and snow predicted for the weekend.
I'm not sure I would turn my back on him, but I guess they keep him well fed :)

Great photos--
I got some photos of an egret on the pond in front of the building here and of her flying away--
but Bears--I will leave that one for you!!!
we have had some rainy days here on the east coast this week--
love and laughter, di
Brave birds! He looks like a nice bear but I agree having a good fence between him and me (or you) is a good thing.
i hope they have a good life there. :)
These are great bear pics, Diane. And you got some close-ups, terrific!
To answer your question, it's sprinkling here today and more rain this weekend. California is loving it very much. :)

aw he's so cute! and i love to see different animals all getting along!
Love the birds in the background. Not too long ago we saw a black bear in the wild - he was more afraid of us than we were of him I think. He ran quickly up the hill and into the woods. Our weather - need you ask? - is rain rain rain wind rain rain rain. We got 3 inches since yesterday - and more expected. There are landslide warnings for hills and cliffs - we will stay away from those. Hope your weekend ahead is glorious my friend.
Afternoon, the bear is beautiful, a little skinny I think though.Blessings Francine.
He looks BIG!! Looks like uou were close!
It cracks me up all the black bear here are tucked safely in their dens for the winter.

O How beautiful ...It was an ok day in Ohio a lil sunshine and temps in the 40s which is really warm this time of year! Have a great evening ~Angela
That bear looks old. Glad it is safe and fed.
I love your header. Very whimsical.
Love seeing your photos!! The bear looks like he is a pretty good size. I have a friend that lives in Florida and they came home to a bear sitting in their driveway. They sat in their car for 45 minutes until the bear decided to leave.
hugs,
Cindy
So beautiful! It has warmed us so pretty here. Hope the weather is nice for you! Have a great weekend.
Love the heron behind the bear, great photo.
I love the photos of the bear. :-) I think bear are so beautiful. We have a park about 45 minutes from us that have 3 bear to look at. They are always sleeping in hammocks when we visit. LOL
We have a bear pit with a tall fence along the edge. The bears are there because they were injured in the wild. It is like a bear hospital. I'd never want to see a bear in the wild. Sometimes tall fences are exactly the best thing.
Some of my kinder kids were going to the local zoo since it was 1/2 day today. I told Christian to look for bears! I don't think he'll find one since our zoo is all desert animals!
I hope that heron isn't being sassy. What great pics. We have black bears around here, but they're all napping at the moment. Hope you have a great weekend. xo
Amazingly our blizzard is almost all gone. I didn't even need boots today. Best snow clean up in my neighborhood ever. So enjoyed your sunny bear photos.
Aren't they fantastic animals but you definitely need a fence!
All the best Jan
Yay for fences for sure! Beautiful pictures though. My girls work in AK during the summers and have had many encounters with black bears in the wild -- fortunately none that resulted in anything bad happening. Looks like beautiful weather there . . . still jealous :)
His coat looks so shiny in the sunlight! :) As to weather in these parts, our snowfall has melted, the bitter temps are gone and we are to have mild weather today perhaps even reaching to 60 degrees! :) It will be nice to not have to run the furnace non-stop for a day or two!
Glad there is a fence between you and the bear!
Deb
IT seems strange to see a bear in Florida. An alligator, yes! Seems with his fur coat he's be hot, but he looks happy!
Such fabulous photos of this bear, Diane! They are all hibernating here this time of the year. I love visiting wildlife refuges and safely seeing animals s roaming in nature.
Having just seen The Revenant, I will never look at a bear the same way again.

Our bears are all hibernating! What a treat to see one now.
Nice to get a close up safely! Funny the birds aren't afraid, but I've seen egrets practically sitting on an alligators head ... That always surprises me! Don't know if they are brave or just stupid!
