Remember the pages in puzzle books that showed similar objects and one that 'doesn't belong'?
I was so busy taking photos of all of the beautiful mushrooms and fungi in the forest last week that I didn't realize I had found one that 'doesn't belong'.
After all this one is a mushroom!
But this one is an orange or tangerine. Right at the base of a tree under some leaves. How funny is that!
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday and
Lavender Cottage for Mosaic Monday.

Yippee, I got it right and early in the morning too! My coffee must be working!!
It's funny isn't it, that you can be so busy snapping away, that you don't see what you really captured until later, when you are going through the shots you've taken.. I have been surprised more than once.
Very funny. Didn't get that. Maybe I should have some coffee!
Hello, that is funny. I like surprises in my photos, you never know what you might find. The mushrooms and fungi are pretty. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!
Diane, Weird mushrooms too. Maybe someone drop part of their lunch. You sure find some great things while out in nature. I do not know what is poison, so I do not touch things like mushrooms and fungi...even though they are fascinating. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
P.S. do you ever see snakes while hiking??
Love the photos! I have some interesting mushrooms growing on a tree stump, but the orange is funny and makes me smile.
hugs,
Linda
That final one looks so artsy! I spotted that imposter right away!
I see you are down among the brown leaves too! Fabulous colours made brighter by the leafy background.
Happy Monday!
Good captures. I just saw this kind of puzzle in my grandson's homework the other day. Interesting little red mushroom?
Good morning Diane,
Well I got that one right--though it's probably the only thing I will get right today....(btw my morning started) LOL! So nice to stop by and visit you!!! I love photographing mushrooms too! Miss you!

It's a bit like beach combing - you're never sure of what you're going to find!
Haha! Yes, that was fun, Diane! Maybe the birds will still eat that tangerine if you cut it in half? :-)Hope you have a happy day today.
Wow, fascinating pictures, had fun.Blessings Francine.
Oh I do remember that in Highlights Magazine (my kids were better at it than I was usually) and I didn't catch this 'one of these is not like the others' either!!! What fun. I enjoyed the pictures and the nostalgia.
Haha...what a fun post, Diane! At first I thought one of the smaller white ones was it...it looked like a button! I have seen all of these varieties in my yard from time to time...even some as orange as your "orange" (lol)...sometimes they are very tiny too! Great mosaic :)
Great photos of fungi! If that orange stays there very long it will be fungi too! LOL!
Someone is missing an orange! Love the fungi!

LOL--you almost had me fooled, Diane! Nice photos of the wild mushrooms!
What a fun post Diane. Looks like someone dropped an orange. Great photos and mosaic. Have a great week. xo
Haha, I picked up on the orange right away! Could have been squirrels or some other critter that dropped it there or maybe another hiker lost it from their lunch. As for the other fungi - I've never seen the red ones in person yet know many faux ones are red with white dots.
That is pretty funny wonder how it got there?
Great photos, hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy taking
more photos.

How fun! This reminds me of hiking in the mountains and finding an assorted group of pinecones, rocks or maybe even some interesting fungi.
So colorful too!
Happy Tuesday,

I thought I spied the orange, thinking that mushrooms don't have belly buttons. Are they edible? There are edible ones that grow here in Colorado, but I'd never pick them. Too dangerous and hard to tell the difference. But they do make for interesting conversation, don' they?
Some of these mushrooms can be poisonous, and it's hard to tell which ones are. I noticed the orange right away. :)

Hi Diane, what nice photos of mushrooms. The orange looks funny there. Hope you have a nice week and a Happy Valentines Day.

Fun photos Diane, enjoyed these very much, thank you. Have a great week :)
When I first saw the tangerine it made me giggle. Love the collage you made too. Wow - the shelf fungus is so beautiful - I've never seen one in those colors. Have a grand week and see you on Wednesday.
Lovely images of really pretty fungi! The second photo is my favourite.
Thank you for sharing and happy hiking!
LOL, never would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out, wonder how it got there? (unless of course it was an orange tree!) Deb xo
