When doll collectors meet at the Thrift Store!

I NEVER find dolls at the old Thrift Store but when I do....

I really SCORE!

And as I walked through the store a man commented on my cute doll and told me his wife was a doll collector so off I went to meet her. It was fun to talk with her about dolls taking over your house!

This little dollie already has a name! Cricket! Doesn't it fit her perfectly. (Thanks Honey for naming her. Oh and by the way, Hubby has LOVED all of the sweet comments he got on his photos of the moon.)

My new dollie appears to be a drink and wet doll from around 1960. I'm so proud of her and love her so much already.

Oh, and if it wasn't enough fun to find a vintage doll at the thrift store. Do you want to guess at how much she was? (answer at the very bottom of the post)

We know she is having a very bad hair day but after a bath (I used Bon Ami with a Q tip and soft cleaning cloth) she is so squeaky clean, her eyes are bright and all of of her fingers and toes are accounted for. And of course on bad hair days, we always look cute in a HAT! lol

So it's an exciting Wednesday Wee Ones for me this week!

JoAnn is sharing photos of her cute dolls  HERE.

Don't forget to Take time to PLAY!

And a DRUM ROLL please.....

She looks like my doll, Sherylyn, from that time period. I still have my sweet baby doll and my grand girls play with her. I need to get her some snazzy outfits!!

Oh what a find. Rarely do you find the vintage dolls at thrift store let alone one in such wonderful condition. She is indeed a perfect addition to your group of girls. She will be fun to sew for. Such a cutie.

Oh my - what a darling little girl and Cricket does suit her perfectly. She looks like a regular Florida girl - all dressed up in her sun suit and ready to spend the day at the beach - what a precious little one. One of these days I shall find a doll at the thrift shop - one of these days. Hope the rest of your week is as sparkly as Cricket. What a fun post my sweet friend.

You're right-- rarely see a doll at the thrifts. Great find, and the orice was right too! Like her new ensemble.

Cricket is too cute! Love her little outfit! I can't wait until Scout gets a little older and starts really playing with dolls. Now she just hauls one around on occasion.
hugs,
Linda

Diane, You fixed your dolly up nicely. I almost laughed about you meeting another doll collector. It's a small world and lots of beautiful people in it...thank goodness. I thought the other day about all the drink and wet dolls our mother gave us....it was our siblings, they drank and wet plenty. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I remeber "Betsie Wetsie" when i was young but that certainly wasn't in the 60's! But it looks like one of the haircuts I gave dolls back then. They finally stopped giving me dolls as I would chop off their hair every time! LOL! (I was mad because I didn't want a doll...I wanted a horse!)
