I think this is going to be incredibly hard to TELL…without the use of my hands! And without animation! But let’s give it a try.
A Fish Tale

I made a quick stop at Blue Run in Dunnellon the other day. And I walked down to the ramp where people take their canoes, kayaks and floats to get into the Rainbow River.
I walked to the end of the ramp and took this photo.
The water was very calm and the reflections were beautiful.
Lala lala! (that’s how I live my life…in lala land!)
Something came through the water towards me…in a bee line! Rippling the water BIG TIME!
Here’s where I get animated! Water RIPPLING! Something traveling FAST through the water…STRAIGHT towards me! And before I could even react…
PLOP!!!
A FISH landed at my feet.
I pointed the camera down and this is what I saw.
OKAY…my heart is still racing and the fish, which I think is a mullet…
Flips…
and Flops…
and manages to THROW itself back in the river!

Hello, what a story. Seeing something coming towards me that fast, I would have backed up. I have seen snakes swimming fast in the water. I am glad the fish was able to jump back into the water. I enjoyed your fish tale, very cute!

Being terrified of ALL FISH I would hope if that happened to me I would just have a massive heart attack, fall down, and die. Honest, I made myself look at that fish but the little hairs on my arms were standing up and I could feel getting light headed..so, you live in la-la land? That is wonderful, sure is nicer than living with my fear of fish. Have no idea where this came from, as a child I was okay with fish, would never touch one but look at me now.
So glad to be living in Weaverville, and we are getting a beautiful Publix (opening in February), and Hobby Lobby is opening at the end of the month in South Asheville........yippee.

OH MY GOSH DIANE....that sounds so scary........startling!!!?? what in the world?? LOL........very very strange thing to have happen. At first I was almost afraid you were going to say " a huge alligator jumped right up at me! roaring and snapping and biting!!" ha ha ha lol Well glad it was just a little old fish and not a gator but anyway that STILL WOULD'VE been quite startling. Wonder what it meant????..........
What a strange thing to happen. Almost as if it saw you walking down towards the water and came to say hello. Probably not, but it's a nice thought.

OK that is a pretty wild story! And at first I thought it was going to be something much larger!
That's hilarious! I bet it is a mullet; we see them jumping clear out of the water in our canal (just straight up and back down though)... I called them flying fish when we first were in the Canal Cottage but a fisherman friend laughed at me.
Now that is a critter of a story!!
I will say, I thought it was going to be a gator!!!

A sign? Of what? I don't believe in coincidence so there is a reason why that happened as I don't think many of us will ever experience that! Think about it and see if it relates to your life in any way. Very cool!
Mullet are good at that!!! If you have a lantern in the back of a boat at night, they will just jump in the boat, following the light! It's great fun after the first one scares you half out of your wits!!
