Butterfly Photography

I’ve never had much success taking butterfly photos.

bIMG_1824

I know I should learn to change my settings on my camera and that would help! lol

butterflyIMG_1822

But it’s more fun to walk around Shalom Park, running from flower to flower like a crazy woman.

bIMG_1826

Every time I thought I was in the perfect spot, they would take off in another direction.

bIMG_1839

At least I got a little exercise on this ‘walk’! hahaha!

bIMG_1834

Are you tired yet? We could sit down on this nice bench.

benchIMG_1853

WAIT…better watch where you sit!

benchIMG_1852

Or better yet…let’s keep trying to take butterfly photos!

You did pretty well with these.

I've not been very successful with them either. I love dragonflies...and they aren't much easier to capture. :)

Ha Ha. How well I know about running around like a crazy woman chasing butterflies. I seem to be doing it on a daily basis. They are hard to pin down, aren't they? I would say you did very well at capturing their beauty.

Hello, I think you did great with the butterfly photos. The flowers are pretty too. I love the mosaic. Be careful where you sit. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

Looks like Shalom Park is a great spot to "run around" ... after butterflies or pretty flowers! (Giggling) Very pretty and fun post. Happy Monday!

Well I think that you did a grand job capturing these wonderful images of flowers and butterflies, thanks for sharing them with us at Mosaic Monday this week.

Interesting post. Enjoyed seeing all the postures of butterfly and your words to take rest and to see and sit in bench.

Very pretty photos and your walks would make me smile since you always see such amazing wild life. Hugs!!

Your butterfly photos and mosaics are wonderful and I can relate to how they are not easy to photograph. I think you did a fine job in capturing them and I love your humor! Have a great week!

Diane, So funny having that bench by trees that drop little prickly things. I would not want of those to hit me on the head even. :):) I loved your butterfly shots. It's hard to get them to sit still for us, isn't it? Hope your week is a fun one. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Good Morning. You did a great job with the butterflies. I have a lot of butterfly collectibles around my house and love anything butterfly! lol
Wishing you a very nice week.

I can just picture you (and myself) running from flower to flower. Those butterflies rarely stay long enough to pose for photos. You managed some great shots.

Your butterfly photos are just gorgeous. I don't think you need to do anything to your camera settings - they are just perfect.

My late mother in law, my daughter and my granddaughter love butterflies. They are such a reminder of the unfolding of life. One of the children in our family used to call them flutter byes. Another good name for them.

Ha! I know what you mean! I've been trying all summer to get a photo of a hummingbird, but with no success. Your photos are beautiful, though. C.

Great Butterfly pictures.... I've read several blog posts this morning showing beautiful butterflies... I saw a pretty yellow one yesterday on one of my canna lilies --but didn't get a picture....

Hope you have a great week. I published a blog post this morning showing some of our Hostas....

Hugs,
Betsy

You are so funny! The butterfly shots are amazing, despite what you say. Even the shots where the butterfly is in partial motion are gorgeous. Now how put that prickly little seed pod on the bench? You?! Too funny ;)

My flower beds are full of Swallow Tail butterflies. They're just magnificent to watch!

You did very well Lavender Sis, butterflies are hard to capture some days. Gosh, hope you didn't sit on that lump in the bench. ;-)

Ow to the bench; I'll keep running around thank you very much! I think you can no longer say you aren't lucky at photographing butterflies. Some of these are quite amazing. (Of course maybe it isn't luck at all, but skill!)

Well done! I would love to see a blue butterfly!

Oh what beautiful shots, Diane! Yes, those little critters can certainly be quite elusive at times but you captured them well! And the little "spiky" round ball...our yard is just full of them and they hurt like all get out when you step in on one with bare feet!

I think you got some great photos of the beautiful butterflies...

Good morning! I think you did very good on your butterfly photos. I have some news for you and your doll lovers. I get a catalog from Home Sew out in Pennsylvania and on the cover of the catalog I just received there is a Little House on the Prairie doll! I know you all have dolls but what was neat about this was the accessories! I thought they were a little pricey but then I think everything is now a days! LOL! they have the doll, clothing, a dishware set, cooking set, kitchen tool set, picnic set, covered wagon with furniture and a dog and a horse. It's really cool, I think, as I love Little House on the Prairie. The website is www.homesew.com and they always have lots of doll making supplies too. I thought you and your doll making friends would enjoy it. Have a great day!

Wonderful. Wonderful. Love the photos. The black butterfly on the blue flower is just too pretty. They are tricky to photograph. I use my 300mm so that I don't have to get close and scare them. We just don't see many butterflies here, so I appreciate your pretty photos.

howdy Diane! those are some real pretty butterfly pictures there! you do alot better than me for sure. Yep, Mr. Front Porch hung that sparkly disco ball up right smack dab in the middle of the living room! LOL I love it and my how it sparkles!

I never tire at looking at all the different butterflies from around the world and yours is beautiful. Wonderful captures and the blue flower is stunning! Loving the mosaic.
Have a wonderful Wednesday with hugs from little Prunella :)x

I can never remember what those beautiful blue flowers are called. I'm having some put in. My one that I do have just doesn't produce many blooms, I cut it back and I'm going to try again. LOVE your butterflies! I seem to attract just the zebra looking ones and the solid yellow. I love them though!

Oh, you got the butterfly! Isn't it hard to get a picture of them? I finally got a pic of one, but of course it was at the nursery. These pictures really are fantastic Diane! The yellow on him really shows up. :)
