It’s too beautiful a day to stay inside! That’s what we say a lot during the summertime.
When you look outside, it’s bright and sunny with puffy white clouds.
Of course it’s 90 degrees…feels like 100! lol
So we take a drive!
This time we went to the tiny town of Inverness, FL to walk around downtown. Inverness is the county seat of Citrus County and very close to where we live.
The old Courthouse is a museum now so we plan to go back again soon when it’s open to go inside.
I thought of my friend, Debbi and her blog HERE when I looked up in the window and saw this! (she takes amazing photos of buildings and homes in Charleston!)
We had a wonderful day and saw lots of neat sights! I may just stretch this out to another post or two…like any good blogger will do!
I’m joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J HERE
AND Mosaic Monday HERE !
Do you like to photograph the courthouses in your home state?

Hello, the sky does look pretty. The Courthouse museum is a beautiful building. I like the clock tower. Pretty images from your walk. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
What a beautiful place Diane. Thanks for letting me travel via my arm chair.
I like small towns, the buildings are so interesting and you can walk and see downtown! Looks like Inverness, FL would be one of those towns! Thanks for the tour. I look forward to more. Happy Monday!
They used to make buildings with style, didn't they.
Love those palm trees, for sure!
I don't think I have ever been there! It looks like a quaint town.
Inverness, Citrus County (love that name!) looks like a beautiful town with wonderful architecture to admire, it was great to take a tour around there with you today.
Happy Mosaic Monday!
Gorgeous day! And wonderful historic architecture. Nice post!
Love photos of old towns and buildings--great photos--thanks--
and a thing of interest maybe--
I just learned that our Brevard County Zoo during the month of September has a special rate--On Sundays it is only $5 each and on Tuesdays, it is $3 each for FL residents with ID--can't go wrong for that price--(reg it is $16)
love and laughter, di
It is unfortunate uncle not to go outside when it's this beautiful weather. There meot you enjoy yourself while you can :-) Beautiful pictures of these buildings. The clock in the tower is a very beautiful item :-)
Yours, Helma
Inverness looks like a lovely place for a visit. So many interesting buildings. Have a wonderful week, Diane.
Beautiful pics! You have given me some ideas!
Deb
What a beautiful day to visit this gorgeous town. I hope your week continues to be just as lovely xx
Well, since you asked, I just posted a Court house from the northeastern part of our state for Monday Murals. I like the looks of this one. Nice mosaic. Stay cool!
I had to ask hubby where our courthouse is and then I remembered, it's in the community hall building where we have our garden club meetings. No, not worth photographing. :-) (that's rural living for you)
The courthouse at Inverness is very symmetrical in design and I like the cupola on the top with the clock.
It's hard for me to imagine those high temps! We saw frost when we hiked this morning! That courthouse/museum is a very stately building. Love the twin palms.
I always love old courthouse buildings. They are just beautiful. Diane, I know what you mean about how pretty it is outside and the heat...But we want to enjoy some of this great weather...even if it makes us sweat. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
What a beautiful courthouse museum building! I hope the recent tropical storm did no damage to your area of Florida, Diane.
What a fun historic road trip. Good to stop by and say hi sweet friend :)
thank you my sweet friend for the mention on your post today! Loved looking around this little scenic town with you today!....my kind of place! I could roam small towns all day...they have so much charm and neat things to see....usually old architecture and you know how I love that! Does this town have an old fashioned drug store/soda fountain, or old fashioned post office?
Loved my tour with you, and your photos were very interesting.
What a wonderful place to visit and sightsee Diane.
Thanks for sharing at Cooking & Crafting w J&J.
Enjoy the week.

Beautiful architecture and the clouds are always so beautiful in FL.
Just love that sky.
What a beautiful day and interesting visit.
All the best Jan
Nice to see the older buildings. Our entire community and everything within 5 miles of home was Everglades only a dozen yeas ago.
It looks like one of those sleepy little towns that most people just drive through. Your photos are really great and show off this lovely place!
What a lovely place to visit - the photos are perfection. You live in such a pretty area and find the best things to post about. See you tomorrow I hope - I'm about ready.
Old courthouses are indeed interesting and are always the centerpiece of their little town. Good choice for a drive. I missed the previous post to comment. You have some pretty amazing photos of the egret. He put on quite show for you, didn't he? Pretty Cool, Diane.
Such pretty views of 'old Florida' -- I really like this.
Looks like such a fun place!
Thanks for joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J!
Beautiful photos and I read the history plaque so thank you for taking a picture of that.
