Even the same trail can take longer some days!
We hiked Ross Prairie State Park over the weekend and was amazed to see the Yellow Jessamine in bloom!
Our seasons seem to all run together and we’ve seen lots of Fall colored leaves this winter too.
So I chose a few pics from our #1 Hike at Blue Run Park and others from our #2 Hike at Ross Prairie to create my mosiacs today.
You didn’t do very good with the last quiz I gave you HERE. So maybe this time you would like to ‘guess’ the reason some hikes take longer! hahaha!

we finished at around 3 pm in the afternoon and I took a quick pic of the time and temp (83).

Great shots from your hikes, is the palm tree a banana tree? I'm not very good at naming plants!! The hike took longer because you probably stopped to take more photographs is my best guess.

Hello, It is weird to see fall and spring flowers at the same time. Your walks are great, long and short. I assume more photo taking, the longer the hike. It is that way with me too. Lovely images.

Some take longer because you pause to take photos?? It has been warm and lovely here this weekend. I'm working on more organizing today. I will get this place in order and able to enjoy it more. It just takes time and work!
I spied the banana tree. I think autumn came even later than usual in Florida. I took a picture of the trees across the bayou in mid December. The trees were finally yellow and orange.
What a great walk! You have such beautiful scenery there and great trails to hike.

83 degrees! I would love to be in Florida for January and February even though it has not been too cold yet. The Farmers Almanac said that this would be a bad winter. Not so yet! I think I identified the banana tree........bottom right. Of course, camera men cannot walk too fast or they could miss something very important.

We had some frigid temps and some snow about a week ago --but now we are going through what they call the January Thaw... Feels like spring here ---but doesn't look like Spring... ha

I see you, banana tree! Our weather has been from one extreme to the other. Last weekend we had snow and ice and this weekend we've been wearing t-shirts and shorts.

You do like to challenge us with your quizzes lavender sis. Hmm, hikes take longer sometimes because there's more flowers and wildlife to see and photograph. Of course there's always the photographer fooling around to get shadow shots too. lol

We had a couple of 70+ degree days, but 83 would be fabulous. I always take longer when I'm outside--I'm in awe of nature and I imagine that is your excuse too, Sis, XOXO
Diane you certainly enjoy beautiful hikes and warmer temps there in FL. We just returned from our walk and it's a warm 40 degrees. Still wearing hat and gloves and warm jacket-- it's good to get some fresh air. I love the long shadow and long walk! Enjoy your week. ♥

First of all I want to tell you how much I love your new header! What an adorable photo :) I'm not quite ready for 83 degree temps yet...although I'm sure it pleasant. Yep- Spotted the banana tree right away...having lived in FL helped me do that.
I suppose walks take longer when you linger to photograph something or just enjoy a moment...and, at certain times of the year, the little daily showers can force you to see shelter until they have passed.

I'm assuming that your hikes take longer when you come across more photo ops. Love the Fall/Spring at the same time collage. I think you get more Fall color than we do here in Ft M.

Usually our California weather is more like Florida weather, but we are really getting a winter this year. Which means that we haven't been going on hikes and even our beach walks are shorter.

Some hikes definitely take longer than others - there are more photos to take! That happens around here, too. I found the banana tree! Of course, you had to show us your temperature - no fair! It's warmed up a little here, but that's a relative thing - and the rain has begun. So I'm glad for a cozy house and a fire (and heated seats in the car on the way to school).
That's a very nice temperature. Length of time for hikes? Not my strong suit. ツ

Is the banana tree last row, second picture? The Yellow Jessamine is so pretty, Diane. Such a nice color of Yellow. And I love its name. ;) wow, 83 degrees. It's still in the forties here. Winter is our coldest month. You see so many beautiful things on your nature hikes.

Our weather is all over the place too. A couple of weeks back we had temps in the 20. Then temps in the 80's, now tornadoes and thunderstorms.
Did I ever tell you we want to move to Colorado!

Hi Diane, we've been having great weather down here. I love it when it's cool.
I so agree with you sometimes hikes so take longer than others. That's ok by me can you can always find new things you missed the first time. Love your leaves pictures, so pretty.

Sounds great to be out there hiking. My husband could certainly answer your question. He get so frustrated by me lagging behind taking pictures!
I spotted the banana tree. At least I think I did. It's in both mosaics, isn't it? I think it sometimes takes longer to do the hikes because you stop more to look around. (Or if you're like me, you're waiting for your husband to catch up.)
