A Drive to Florida's Nature Coast

We drove over to the Gulf Coast a few days ago and it felt great to take a little day trip.

We had an errand to run in that direction so we drove a little farther to “The Ozello Trail” as it twists and turns through St. Martin’s Aquatic Preserve, a 23,000-acre wildlife preserve.

It was a beautiful day but the two lane road was not busy at all so we enjoyed the sights along the way.

My hubby was driving 55 mph and I rolled my window down to take pics.

I just kept taking them hoping something would come out.

Hoping they would not all just be a big blur!

But guess what!

(this was one of my FAVS!)

They all turned out good so I've had a time trying to figure out which ones to share.

We're going over the bridge now so stay tuned!

I'll show some of the birds we saw in my next post!

I'm thankful to live in such a beautiful place!

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and
I like Thursdays HERE too!

i have done the drive by shooting many times, but not in many years now. my favorite is the last one, i love the marsh and it has been beautiful weather the past few weeks. we had frost on the roof and grass and icy windshield when we walked Beau today. i was so cold, i did not do my second walk, it said 38 but if felt colder to me

Seeing Florida through your camera lens is a treat. You get awesome photos, even at 55 MPH.

It is beautiful, indeed. I would have never guess these shots were taken in a fast moving car. Good job, Diane.

I went to some places on the coast when I was in Tallahassee working, St Georges Island comes to mind and St Marks not to mention Wakulla Springs where I got eaten my mosquitoes

Some great photos there, especially to be taken while riding. Not blurry at all! Really pretty and different looking there. We have such amazing geography here!

You got some wonderful pictures!

These are all excellent for moving along at 55 miles per hour. I just love that last one

That really is a beautiful place, Diane. How lucky that you can get out and enjoy it year round. Not something we can do here. I am walking two miles a day on the treadmill in my unheated garage...and let me tell you- I wear gloves because it is so cold walking there.

What a wonderful day! I'm impressed with your camera and steady hands. Your gorgeous shots came out so very clear. It's time for the Husband and me to go drive a back country road so I can hang out the window with my camera. Digital cameras are a godsend to the pocketbook. Cheers!

I had to scroll up and down a few times to pick a favorite, before deciding on the one from the bridge of the island in the river.
Have a blessed day!

Howdy there girlfriend, wow, look at that beautiful BLUE SKY!! SO PRETTY. And those big open spaces.......plenty of room to walk/run/stretch out. Freedom! What y'all got planned this weekend, any adventures? I think it may still be rainy here, so not sure but usually we don't let rain stop us unless it's a TOTAL DOWNPOUR. ha ha LOL. I sure am ready for spring but I cant complain really as we have all the pretty flowers blooming for us and it's really not too cold here like way up North and all that snow and cold. Happy weekend! Hugs!!! ps--thanks for the bird i.d.!! I think you were right and THEY HAVE BABIES!! (fledgelings, we think) I WILL TRY TO GET PICTURES.

The skies are so beautiful. I haven't gotten out early enough to take pictures of the sunrises yet, and still wanting to do that. Nature is so lovely and peaceful and pure, isn't it? I'm glad you had a nice day at The Ozello Trail, Diane, and you got some good pictures from your drive.
