The Northern Parula was the star of the day!

It was like a zoo at Blue Run Park this week! It had rained the day before and then the sun came out for a picture perfect day.

And the birds and critters were numerous AND varied!

The Northern Parula was gorgeous with it's brilliant colors.

It never stayed still but we kept clicking away with both cameras!

We stopped often to see another bird or another critter.

And I don't think we've ever seen so many alligators,

this one on the log looks menacing

but the little ones are 'kinda' cute.

Tri-color Heron

And this Limpkin was a neat sighting.

It stayed still for photos

then we took a quick pic of a Great White Egret getting ready to take flight.

And the Limpkin said....

you're photo bombing my photo shoot! haha! (straight out of camera)

(Little Blue Heron)

And there's room for one more don't you think?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

turtles always fascinate me when they are lined up on logs. you hit the jackpot of critters at Blue Run this trip... my favorite today is number 8 of the limpkin with his head highlighted by the sunbeams

How beautiful! I worry about those turtles in the path of the alligator but... well... that's the food chain, isn't it. Perfectly made by God so I shouldn't complain. :-) ~Andrea xoxo

So much wonderful wildlife and great weather in your world. Alligators roaming about would dampen my steps a bit though. :)

Wonderful sights on your walk! The parula is a new bird to me, and so pretty and bright. I love herons and egrets with their long legs and necks. Alligators, not so much, but they are interesting. All those turtles lined up on the log make me smile! Happy walking, Diane.

What beautiful pictures you took in the zoo.
All zoos, shops and restaurants have been closed here due to the corona pandemic, and this for almost three months.
Many companies go bankrupt in this way.
We still have a lockdaown and a curfew, no one is allowed out after 9 pm.
I wish you a nice Sunday.

Neat bird sightings and photos
The turtles are always smile worthy.

I guess those turtles know what they are doing? Otherwise they may be a little foolish taking a ride on a gator? Those Parulas are one of the prettiest birds of North America and one that unfortunately, I never caught up with on my visits. Have a great week Diane.

What a great outing Diane! I have never seen a Limpkin. Jealous, I am.
Enjoy your week ahead, and thanks for taking time to link in.

I love all your birds! So colorful, and some I do not get to see. It is so nice to see where you have been on your hikes. The log looked like a dog lying down. The eyes and tongue were even there! Do you see it in your imagination?? I do!! Love, Aunt Helen
