December JOY!

I have to admit to having so much fun this month that I need to take a break! I'm going to wish you all a Very Merry Season of JOY and step away from my computer for a couple of weeks.

Of course I want to share some of the sightings from my hikes this week.

Several people got to enjoy seeing this young deer! There's a lady sitting at the picnic table and 2 people on bikes and I'm at the top of the hill with my camera!

But of course, he really wants to cross the trail right now!

WHEW! He made it just in time!

I sure love watching scenes like this along the Marjorie Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

It really is a glorious time of the year to live in Florida. The weather is beautiful and I'm spending more and more time outdoors in nature.

Enjoy December and everything that means the most to you.

Happy Holidays from Florida!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

That red cardinal is a beauty! And what a great sighting of the deer. He only has a short distance to cross. I saw three deer in the woods, and they were waiting patiently for the cars on the highway to cross over. I do hope they made it safely. I wish you a very Merry Christmas, my friend. Have a joyful season and lovely pictures today.

Great photos of the deer!
The Cardinal reminds me of our book club selection for this month, "A Redbird Christmas" by Fannie Flagg.

Dear Diane, you are really enjoying the wonderful weather - and I wish you an equally wonderful time during your blog break! The scene with the young deer reminds me of an experience we had in Utah: We were driving along a long road that was supposed to take us to a certain sunset point at Bryce Canyon, and suddenly I saw a huge deer step onto the road - with a clear desire to cross it. All I could say was "HIRSCH, HIRSCH!", which means "DEER, DEER!" in German :-DD But my husband reacted promptly, braked and flashed his headlights at an oncoming motorhome driver who also stopped. And so the deer was able to cross the road leisurely and elegantly ;-))
Happy holidays, dear friend1
All the best and have a good time!

OMG - what a fantastic photo of the Cardinal! Absolutely love it!!
The deer seems somewhat comfortable (not afraid of people) on the trail.
Good for her :)
I don't get out on the trail much here and I haven't seen a deer in the metroplex yet.
Great photos - thanks for sharing.
