Peachy Keen, an adjective meaning extremely good or exactly right.
My blog break was good but not exactly 'peachy keen'. We are still working on that! lol
But the term came to mind when I saw this Mourning Dove.
I was convinced it was something special because of it's soft peachy colors.
It was just gorgeous.
We took this hike at Halpata Tastanaki Preserve from the Pruitt trailhead on a very windy day.
It was around 70 degrees so it wasn't cold but it was extremely blustery.
One good thing about it was we walked into the wind so that when we turned around, the wind blew us back to our vehicle.
That's a good thing when you are tired!
We saw several American Kestrels that day.
They have such rich colors with the soft light of a cloudy day.
And one of my favorite photos to take are the 'winter trees'.
The grasses were all a burnt orange too.
I hope your holiday week has been good.
What did I miss? 🚘

Happy New Year to you and yours! The caramel color of the grasses is lovely.
Lovely photos of your recent hikes. The colors in the landscape are not what I think of when I think of Florida.
Happy New Year, Diane.
It is good to see you back and that the break was okay.
Love the shots of the Kestrel and the gentle Dove.

Good to see you! And these beautiful shots. Aloha 🌺
Those kestrels are cool birds aren't they? They seem so stoic when perched looking for prey
That sounds like a lovely, blustery hike, even if it wasn't quite "peachy keen" all the way through! Your kestrel & winter pics are stunning! Happy holidays to you too!
It's nice that you go out in nature.
I like the pigeon and the kestrel.
I wish you and all your loved ones a happy new year and, above all, a healthy 2024.

We used to have an American Kestrel here, but unfortunately, the ravens chased him away, as they also do with all the red tailed hawks around here. Happy New Year's Eve to you and yours and of course best wishes for the New Year.
Beautiful photos, as always!! Wishing you and yours a blessed and happy new year!!
Beautiful dove. I like the color of the grass.
Happy New Year!
I'm sorry your blog break wasn't 'peachy keen'. Good to have you and your skillful photography back.
The soft colouring of the Mourning Dove is so lovely. I've been mostly away from blogging these past couple of weeks, too, and am having fun catching up with posts. Happiest of New Year blessings to you, dear Diane.
Happy New Year! Looking forward to your lovely photos in 2024. May it be an especially wonderful year...

Terrific windy day photographs. Love all the winter colors we're seeing.
It's good that we find a bunch of peachy keen things. Otherwise, life would be - the pits.
Take care on the trail.
