Gnome Sweet Gnome and Foxy too!

We took 2 camping trips in March and had such fun.

I hiked...a lot! And I had some 'gnome' adventures along the way.

I found some gnomes on the trails I hiked....

and I left a few gnomes and fairies along the way.

It's been popular all these years but I just started joining in the fun.

I left this one on the tortoise trail at Reed Bingham State Park, Adel, Georgia on a bird house.

I'm not going to get carried away, don't worry.

I'm leaving a few gnomes and fairies on some of my most frequented trails.

It's just something fun and I'll make sure they don't detract from the forest or become litter.

And of course I was out on the trails near my home when we got back.

When I hiked a section of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway, I was lucky to spot a Fox Squirrel.

This one had some distinguishing marks so I'll know it if I see it again.

I don't see one very often so it's always a thrill!

I have been calling it Silver Foxy because of the thick silver tail.

It's always an adventure when you get out on the trails.

Isn't he cute!!!

And I have lots of photos to share from our camping trips.

Have you been taking advantage of the nice weather to get outside?

Happy Spring!

a Fox Squirrel is new to me, what a tail it has. This spring a fox has been visiting our yard. Take care and be well.

Oh, I love the Fox Squirrel! He is a cutie, for sure! They are becoming so rare as there is way too much growth of people in our part of the state, and their habitat is becoming scarcer and scarcer. That makes me so sad. They are such fun to watch. And I love the little gnomes and fairies. They are fun to find along the pathway. I think that's a fun thing to do. I love that you are enjoying the outdoors so much. We've had perfect weather this week for sure! Thanks for sharing the beauty along the way.

What adorable gnomes...and such a great idea too!

What a large squirrel the fox squirrel is compared to our little ground squirrels.

Yes, we have been taking advantage of our wonderful weather of late -- enjoying it while we can. About those gnomes -- do you buy them so you can take them on your hikes? Where do you purchase them?

How fun to find and leave fairies and gnomes. I sure would be thrilled to spot one while out hiking.
That squirrel is a handsome guy. He looks really big in the pictures.

I never see squirrels that big around here! The ones back in my home state, Ohio, are plump and twice as big as the Florida squirrels. I love the gnomes!! How fun!!

Beautiful series of photos.
Photo 6 is my favorite.
I don't understand everything you write, you don't have google translate on your blog, that would be really useful for many people.

Do you pick up gnomes you see and move them along to new spots?

Hello Diane,
It is fun finding the cute gnomes and adding your gnomes along your hike. The Fox Squirrel is cute, great collection of photos.
Our weather has been just so-so, still cold and windy and sometimes rainy. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend.

In our garden we have grey squirrels, fox squirrels, and red squirrels. They all seem to be doing well. I should try to get some photos!

That's such a fun tradition to leave gnomes out on the trail. The blue rock with the gnome is delightful. That fox squirrel is really neat. And his tail is looooong. He's a big one too. Although the squirrels scare me, he does have a cute face, doesn't he? ; )

I love that you leave the gnomes. I like the rock gnome. :-) I started to leave rocks that I paint and write a message on.
Our weather is warming up. :-)

Hello Diane :)
I would love the surprise of finding a gnome or fairy in woodland or forest, and like the idea of leaving one for others to find. Great sighting of the Fox-squirrel, and all your photos of the Fox-squirrel are really good, as I believe they are quite shy creatures and cute too. Most of the comments have mentioned it's enormous tail, and it is in photo 8 where we can see it is exceptionally long and beautiful.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Hugs,
Sonjia.

It's so nice that leave behind the gnomes and I love that cute squirrel. The weather has been cold and rainy here and not good weather for taking walks. I'm happy that this week it's supposed to warm up.

Leaving gnomes and fairies on the trail is such a fun idea—like little surprises for fellow hikers! And Silver Foxy is the cutest… what a cool sighting! Can’t wait to see more pics from your trips!

That idea of gnomes left along trails is fabulous. It brings out the inner child in us.

Placing painted stones became a big thing for a season when our world changed back in 2020! I participated in placing a few I painted myself and it was so much fun! Your gnomes and fairies are cute!

Never read or saw about a fox sqirrel. How wonderful!
We have a black sqirrel in the garden and sometimes on the wall of the balcony.

Interesting about the fox squirrel. That sure is a long tail.
I'm finishing a smoothie and then heading out for a walk. Trying to take advantage of the weather before the humidity sets in.
