Are you over 40? I’m probably older than most of my favorite bloggers but I DO feel fabulous! ( and I have sons that are in their 40s….I know it’s hard for me to believe, too! lol )
One of my FAVORITE blogs is Fabulous After 40 ! I am addicted to their blog and read it every morning before I start my day! I was beginning to think I shouldn’t think so much about style ‘at my age’ until I found their blog! But feeling good and looking good is important in a healthy lifestyle! One of my favorite topics was What does dressing age appropriate mean?
I wrote and asked them about how to wear this white jacket and they responded in an email! And when you comment on their blog, they respond to your comment! It’s great having these ladies’ advice! They are in the business, after all….and share their insight to many of the challenges we face as we get a ‘little older’!
So here’s the jacket…..
and here’s what I wore it with the day we visited the Biltmore Estate.
I would say….I could come up with better shoes except that at the Biltmore walking shoes are a must! So TEVAs were my choice!
And what were their suggestions for wearing the jacket in Florida?
Hi,
Sorry that I did not get back to you sooner... I was just in Florida for a week!
Your jacket is great for down there... Might be too much with white jeans..but if you added a lightweight colorful scarf, you could pull it off!
I would wear it with jeans... colorful ones!! You could try it over a sundress...but I'm thinking that round collar will not look right.
Florida is so casual.. a light sweater might be a better choice!
Cheers,
JoJami
Thanks Jo Jami! I am on the lookout for colorful jeans now!
What’s your style? Do you like to dress up or would you rather keep it casual? What would you wear the white jacket with?

You are fabulous!! You look great in the outfit you wore to Biltmore. In Florida I would wear that white jacket with colorful capris....
Hugs,
Penny
You look fabulous!
I am over 40, and very casual. I'd wear that jacket just like you did! but it has the potential to dress it up a bit if you needed to :) Great jacket!
Thanks for the link to their site. Definitely one I need. My closet is terrible because we're 6 months in NC and 6 in Lady Lake, Fl. Jeans, shorts, 3 skirts and blouses.
I love the pairing for Biltmore House but have no idea if a scarf would go well with the round neckline. Penny's capri idea sounds perfect.
I think you wore it beautifully! I like the cropped pants and of course I love the TEVA's! Dansko has great feminine sandals that are surprisingly comfortable. Thanks for the link!
PS You look very young!
Looking Great! and I'm 55 and HAPPY!!
Thanks for info about that blog...I better check it out!
Happy weekend!
Warmly,
deb
I purchased a white jacket the summer before last and have only worn in twice. I confess that I am stumped by it. I wear it with jeans, but never know what to wear under it. You look great and I can't believe that you have children in their 40s. Wow!
worn it twice
first of all! you do look fabulous.....!!!
I just turned 36 in July...
I would wear that jacket with some tight denim jeans and a cute healed shoe...some sort of vintage blouse under it...and possibly a light busy scarf as well!
Have a great day!

I'll be 50 next year! Great site -thanks for the link! And you look fab in that jacket!!
You look so pretty Diane and it is hard to believ you ahev 40 year old sons!
I wore a uniform or scrubs all my career as a nurse, so casual clothes have always been the staple of my wardrobe. I do like to "dress up" to go out somewhere nice now and then, but jeans and sneakers are what I wear most days. :)
Thanks for the link...I really need a site like that to keep me informed.
I like the white/khaki and have a mother of pearl bracelet that goes well with that combo.
I have seen jackets like that worn with colorful sun dresses.
You look great and I love the jacket and shades ;)
Have a great weekend!
You look too cute in your white jacket; the shorter look is great on you! I wanted to stop by after I saw your post on Laura's blog. Your blog title caught my eye....Lavender dreams are the best. cheers, Andrea
Fantastic! I think you look super! And you're right - TEVAs for walking..I hear they're wonderful but I should really try them. Thank you so so very much for your kind visits to my blog and welovetoillustrate! It's really a treat to see you and visit here each week or so. I have to check out the blog you mentioned! I'm over 40 so it's perfect! : )
What fun...you look great!
Off to visit their blog..and yes I am over 40!!!
Hugs for a great weekend.
I am closer to 40 than I thought I ever would be.. : } I think you did a fabulous job..you look very Spiffy yet Cozy..two important things..especially when Sight Seeing..Oh.. I just read "Maid to Match" by Deeanne Gist..it was based on and in the time of the Biltmore Estate and the Vanderbilt's..
I have been meaning to stop by..and glad that I did..
I'm over 40....actually, I'm over 50!! Where does the time go? I think you look great in your white jacket. It will go with so many things.
You asked me if I made my pumpkin girl doll...no, I didn't. It came from Marshall's and she was only $7.99. I thought she was so cute and I couldn't past her up for that price.
Have a great weekend.

Oh the Biltmore Estate is so lovely. I really like the jacket.
I am over 40 and feel fabulous too. :)
I love the Biltmore Estate and wish I lived in N. Carolina. I think you were spot-on with your jacket! You look fabulous, darling one. Thank you for coming to see me & following, I really appreciate it. We're a bit silly sometimes over at Splenderosa, but always always want to look spectacular too. I'm following you now. I definitely need to know YOU.

Hi,
Oh my goodness - you are one fabulous lady and no matter what your age are beautiful on the outside and inside. Love - love the white jacket - thank you for sharing the wonderful blog for those of us that may be way over
40.
Have a lovely day.
Blessings,
Erin
First of all, you look maaaaavelous daaaalink! Very cute! I am way over 40 but I would wear the white jacket with either dark blue or faded jeans, a colorful Tee or a long white shirt underneath with sleeves rolled to 3/4 length. I would wear a fun hand made brooch on the jacket.I would wear my sandals. As you can tell, I have no style :-)
But I do like to be comfy!
Smiles,Pat
Hi Diane,
I must say you look fabulous darling!! Really it is hard to believe you have children in their 40's. I love your outfit and so fitting for the outing you had at the Biltmore.
My style is a mix of great designs in jeans, casual and dressing types, dress pants when needed. Dresses once in awhile too. But my days in the studio find me in jeans, with comfy shirts, sweaters or T's. I love shoes and when I am not in sandals in the heat of Texas, I wear, shoes with heels and I love boots of all types, especially shoe boots that look like tall ones under jeans. And, of course I love bling and love to wear jewelry everyday.
Thanks for sharing the site. The ladies sound like they are a big help with styles. I love to be mostly casual and for me,I would wear your jacket with darker blue jeans and a junky necklace. If it was cool I would wear it with a turtle neck and jeans.
What a great post.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
Love to you,
Celestina Marie
Hi Diane,
Your look is great and really you do not look old enough to have children in their 40's.
I would probably team it up with a navy and white scarf and dark denim jeans. I think navy and white is always so smart. thanks for sharing the site.
Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn
You look great! I am way over 40 and I feel fabulous. I love that jacket on you. I wish I could wear that shorter length but alas...it just doesn't look right on me. I think capris would be great and even black capris at night for a little more of a dressy feel but yet casual. Like I said...you look great!
It looks great!
