“Crashing” into the New Year!

Or how to be thinner in the New Year!

My computer crashed on Thursday! How shocking!

I had a post scheduled for Saturday and I could make sure it looked OK on my hubby’s lap top but oh how I missed visiting everyone! I was in MAJOR withdrawal for TWO whole days!

But a trip to Walmart and a smart hubby and I am back in business now! (NEW and THINNER…on top of stand, OLD on the floor)

My new computer is THINNER…and so is my pocketbook but so far I’m really liking many of the new features! I’ll be ‘learning’ for awhile! And of course I hope my hubby can retrieve everything off of the old computer. He hasn’t started that process yet!

I have the Internet, my Gmail, Windows Live Writer and Picassa

…life it good!

GOOD BYE NASA…you were a good ‘puter!!!

Drama…drama…drama!

How did your year start?

(and what font do you like to use? Lucinda Calligraphy is MISSING from my new fonts!!!)

Happy New Year!

It's always so exciting to get a new computer. It's a pain transferring everything over, but such a joy once you do. What a great way to start the new year!

I like a very plain font. I'm sorry one of your favorites is missing, but I'm sure you can find it for a free download somewhere. Doesn't one of the background blogs offer free fonts? Not sure about that.

What timing! But all in all, if it was going to happen, what great timing! Enjoy learning all the new features.

Happy New Year!

Loosing connections on computer is a HUGE DRAG!
I feel your pain.
Glad you are back, it is very stressful.
Fonts is a whole blog in itself, I keep changing and don't know which one to stick with. I want it big enough to read and for others to see well. You should do a poll on fonts.
Wishing you a great new year with your new computer.

Diane, I hope you retrieve what you want from the old computer. When I want to use Blogger on the house computer I have to be on Firefox and
NOT Internet Explorer, otherwise I can't leave comments (no identity shows up). I use Google Chrome on this netbook. They are fun but can be taxing on the patience, of which I have less as the years go by.
We had a quiet night here, just the stove overheated and the kitchen was a little on fire, no big deal! Mr. Glen Oaks got it in time. We are beginning to think that this house is cursed.
Happy New Year,
Susan

Blogger only gives me a few options on the font. I'd like to use others and I don't even know if I have Picassa or Windows Writer. Humm...I'll have to investigate. You are lucky o have a computer savvy husband. Mine doesn't even know how to turn it on. Happy New Years day!~Ames

Wow Diane! I thought I had a big computer, as it's an old desktop almost 10 years old. I've never seen anyone with a bigger one until I saw your old one.

Sorry about the crash, but I'm glad you were able to get back to us soon. I think I go through withdrawals when I can't check online, so I know that is.

I'm so glad to have "met" you this year and hop you have a wonderful 2012!

Good luck on your new computer. I worry about mine meeting its demise. Can't think about it. I would love to use a different font, I have to learn how to find and downlaod them. Happy 2012! xo

looking good ! I have a new 'puter too ! I actually can hear things on it . my old one lost all speaker function in November. I know how you must feel with a new baby. I like the font "georgia" I think it is called ,..but I keep changing it up from time to time. I like change.

Happy 2012

Happy New Year! Isn't it amazing how technology can change (and get thinner) in as little as a few years. I am learning a new operating system on my latest hand me down (or is it up from a child) computer. Either way I am grateful and understand those withdrawls of which you speak.

Wishing you a successful and enjoyable 2012.
