“Colorful” Photo Challenge

My first thought was how GREEN Florida is right now. We have not had the bad storms in this part of the state but we’ve had a few good afternoon showers. It’s green and beautiful and looks more like summer time.

(the golf course and golfcart path behind my house, before it rained)

But then I was driving down the road with my camera handy.

And I saw this! I didn’t even slow down…a quick photo out the window.

Doesn’t it take you back to your childhood, when you looked forward to the carnival coming to town?

I used the Waterlogue app for IPADS for the watercolor effect.

(orginal…out the window. I was zoomed in and almost missed the shot!)

I’m taking part in Donna’s photo challenge.

I hope you are having a colorful Spring!

Love the big white cloud in the first photo. Yes, I remember longing to go to the fair...mom usually would not let us, she never had the money. It would have been nice to just go look. Hope you have a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

The judicious cropping is superb and oh the riot of colors. Yes, I got that little rush of excitement that I would get as a child seeing the carnival. And all that beautiful lush green looks wonderfully soothing!

Beautiful sunny blue skies over Florida! I love it. The fairground photos are very colourful too. I don't like the rides as they scare me and I'm afraid of heights. lol The merrygoround is safe for me. :) Have a wonderful weekend.

Diane those are great shots. There's no greater color combination, I don't think, than God's choice of green grass against a blue sky! Great carnival shots and I love it in water color! Hope you have a nice weekend,

Yes, the colourful ride you share brings back memories of the big fair that came to town each year. During high school, it was THE place to be, and of course that's where all the guys were too. :-)

Oh, WOW! I love that watercolor effect. Makes a great postcard or note.
Our Florida weather is simply beautiful this time of year, from late October thru May. I'm enjoying it to the fullest before the summer drama arrives. ;)
Have a beautiful weekend, sis.

Those are colourful photos! Love the carnival. I do enjoy storms from time to time. We rarely get them here, but the skies can be so dramatic, as you've captured in your first photo.

My smile became larger as I read that carnivals remind us of our childhood. For the past few months I've been working on Long Meddowe Days (May 17 & 18), my town's 35th annual festival sponsored by our Historical Society. There's FuN for everyone! :)

Happy Mother's Day, Diane!

Clouds are one of my favorite subjects to snap. Your pictures are always beautiful. I loved living in Florida but dreaded the thunder and lightening storms.. Also the buggies..BIG ones that you could HEAR clomping around on the back porch and driveway. We had quite an adventure in Florida. I must post about it one day. An interesting place..of course this was in north Florida..that is where our family is from. Chipley.
Big hugs to you, my sweet friend!

That blue sky with cloud is a wonderful representation of color. When I was a kid we had an amusement park in Chicago called Riverview. It was everything any kid could want. I little bit seedy with big scarey rides!

So pretty and green. We just dry out here in the summer and everything is brown and dreary. I still remember how excited we were when the carnival came to town.

Love your "shot on the run" colorful carnival pic!!! I love photographing the neat and vivid scenes at carnivals, dont you? so much to see. Makes me think of corn dogs, the scent of funnel cakes, and the pretty pastels of cotton candy!! And screaming children on rides!! ha ha

Good thing you had that camera handy! You were rewarded with a great shot...and the perfect photo for this month's challenge!

The green showcased in your first photo is always a soothing color. Love the composition you did on this one, with the meandering path, trees framed on the left, and the big billowing cloud reaching for the sky. And the carnival one is so fun! Love that watercolor effect! I can always count on you to enthusiastically participate! Wonderful job - this wasn't a challenge for you at all.

Linda H said...

Blue and green- one of my favourite colour combos... I envy all the green you are surrounded by, our spring is so slow this year...
The carnival shot is great for a "drive by shooting" - love the striped tents - there's that green and blue again!! And the red parachutes just give it the POP!! Great job Diane.

Angela said...

Oh that carnival is fantastic! Great colours!

Hi Diane, Beautiful shots and it is also very green here in Ky. now too. We had all the storms and the wind was very bad but just hoping that is over. Gave me a warm fuzzy to see the carnival, loved them when I was young and we always took out kiddos. Happy Mother's Day.
