I adore Golden Books especially the old ones with the vintage illustrations. I thought I had a pretty sizable collection, but you have me beat. Oh the fun I could have in your room playing and reading. :-)

I have that little book, I've kept it ever since I found it in the bottom of a box I got at auction. Can't bare to part with it. I read these little books all the time...such memories.

That's quite a collection. I bought one (just one) vintage Golden Book because it was printed the year that I was born. No wonder your wee ones are so happy in that space...love the tea set, too. (Yes, perhaps your little dolly would love a slip. Ha!)

I'm a childrens book nut too! The illustrations and charming stories can't be beat. Glad the bunnies are out and about, I'm sure the flamingo's almost froze to death! I'm having my first give-away Queens in Training...come see when you find a moment!

While reading your post, I smiled - on Wednesdays I am a volunteer reader in the Kindergarten classes at one of our town's elementary schools. Today is Wednesday! It was fun!

Hi Diane,
I sent you an email as I thought my comments were too long to put on here. I hope that you don't take any offense to my comment. I love your blog and I think that you are a great lady

Oh Diane, you are a girl after my own heart. I still have all my books from my childhood as well as my children's books. They make wonderful reference books for me when designing new critters, so full of endless inspiration.
I wasn't sure whether those bunnies were real or statues...but they sure are cute!
Warmest hugs,
Sandi @ Bearly Sane

Great collection of those little books. I wonder how many years they've been around?

For some strange reason when I saw your dolls all lined up, I was reminded of a book I read many moons ago when my daughters were young. It was some fictional series about dolls being some sort of monsters that came alive. Do you remember any like that? Well, and then I was reminded of the one "being drowned" in plain sight at your house that caused such hilarity here! (I sure hope none of your pretty dolls are evil things that come out at night and wreak havoc!) Or are those the ones that get drowned? I mean washed.

Add my name to the list. I've got a love of children's books too. Of course I have quite a few starring bears, but others as well. I go for the stories and the illustrations. One or the other can win me over if they are really extraordinary, but I like the story to be a good one! I don't know about Asheville at the moment but it's getting a little warmer around here in the capitol city. I enjoyed your photos!
