It’s a beautiful day here in Florida...perfect for relaxing. Of course, if you know me, I can only enjoy relaxing for a little while and then I’m ready to GO somewhere! Here I am on Jekyll Island last week. Latitude 31 is an AMAZING place to eat! I had Grouper Hemingway with Key Lime pie for dessert! Delicious!

It's not even dark here but look at what I saw in the sky when I went outside!

We've had such a good day! There was an Art show right here in our community and I am always amazed at all the talent of people right in my neighborhood. We didn't buy anything today, except some note cards because we have art that we need to frame and hang on our walls! And I am excited about that!

Arts and Crafts...and historical novels

We had so much fun driving to the Gulf Coast last weekend and I have more pics to share.

On our way we saw this Craft fair and we stopped to see what local artisans had made.

The pretty earrings I bought were made by a talented lady from Merritt Island.

This is ME...and hubby! ♥

I wear a lot of lime greens and bright pinks

when we are in Florida so these will be cute.

 

My hubby was interested in these beautiful owls.

This one is a Barred Owl

and this cute little owl is a Screech Owl.

He's had an injury to his eye that is healing.

What a soft chestnut brown he was!

And on another note, I have been reading New York by Edward Rutherfurd. It's an historical novel and one you can't put down. Of course there are many sad parts because the history of New York is the history of America. You will feel humbled and proud when you read the accounts of the Revolutionary war and other events that shaped our nation's history. The characters are so real and the events are historical...I would highly recommend it! I can't wait to read other books by this author.

So many things to share!

I have so much to show you and several blog favorites to share...I don't know where to start!

First, by going to other blogs, I found out about T J Maxx and I love this store. It has a few things that are a little out of the ordinary and that's what I love. I don't like things that are mass produced but this store has a few quirky things mixed in here and there. I know several blogs mention this store but have you visited Happy to Design ? She has so many wonderful ideas and such a beautiful home! She bought the most beautiful tea pot there!

I bought this little sign for my kitchen window at T J's.

I have a glass block window that lets in LOTS of light...too much sometimes. So I made little cafe curtains but I keep them pulled part of the way back and this gave me the perfect spot for the sign.

Well, I had to change it some, of course! I hot glued a sea shell right over the design and VOILA! What do you think about it now?

And are you keeping up with the Winter Olympics? Check this blog...Nana's Kitchen ! She has wonderful photos and info and even a giveaway right now!

Wednesday Wee Ones and my doll house

This little girl is a Lloyd Middleton curio doll

and she is petite and precious!

Today she is playing with the doll house

looking inside to see which children to play with

and what adventure to create.

She also has some little paper dolls that my girlfriend, Pat made for me awhile back.

These are favorites...I know I say that about all of them!

What made me think of this little girl was the photo I saw on M. Kate's BLOG.

She saw a most exquisite doll and thought of me! If you haven't visited her blog, you are in for a treat! You will really feel like you are on an adventure when you see her beautiful photos!

A Perfect Florida day!

Our high was 70 degrees and we spent the day on the Gulf Coast.

We ate almond fried Grouper at Peck's and drove to some of the small beaches nearby.

 

It was gorgeous and it felt great to get out and see the sights.

I would like to go fishing sometime...

but not in this boat and not near this tree! heehee!!

The sights included this Anhinga...

and even an Arts and Crafts show! One of my MOST favorite things to do! I'll save the photos of what I bought for another day! Sending you messages in the sky!
