Arts and Crafts...and historical novels

We had so much fun driving to the Gulf Coast last weekend and I have more pics to share.

On our way we saw this Craft fair and we stopped to see what local artisans had made.

The pretty earrings I bought were made by a talented lady from Merritt Island.

My hubby was interested in these beautiful owls.

and this cute little owl is a Screech Owl.

He's had an injury to his eye that is healing.

What a soft chestnut brown he was!

And on another note, I have been reading New York by Edward Rutherfurd. It's an historical novel and one you can't put down. Of course there are many sad parts because the history of New York is the history of America. You will feel humbled and proud when you read the accounts of the Revolutionary war and other events that shaped our nation's history. The characters are so real and the events are historical...I would highly recommend it! I can't wait to read other books by this author.

Well, I have had an interesting comment on this post so I will add it here.....

What do you think? Do you think it was Edward Rutherfurd? Hhhmmm...very interesting!

And if you want to visit a blog that will transport you to New York.....visit Mille Fiori Favoriti ! Her photos are amazing! Here's a link to my favorite post.... Greenwood Cemetery .

Enjoy your weekend! We have so much to be thankful for!

Looks like you had a great time at the craft show.

Love owls. There is an injured one used locally to teach children (and adults) about the the bird and it's habitat. They are beautiful birds, and I'm lucky to live in an area where they can be heard quite often. Rarely seen, but heard. lol

You are just having so much fun! I was just in a store today asking if they thought I could attract a screech owl to my yard if I put up the right owl house.

Thank you Diane for linking to me. I'm glad you are enjoying my blog. Did you skim through my "American Revolutionary War Battle of Brooklyn" blog posts? You can find them in my "Labels" on my sidebar. There are 8 in posts total and the middle three show the sights today where the very first Revolutionary Battle took place. I still choke up when I think about the brave Maryland 400.

I will have to read this book! Thanks for the recommendation.

Your new earrings are lovely and the owls are fascinating to look at so close.

Have a wonderful weekend!

♥ Pat

A beautiful post! You go on the greatest field trips...I love the jewelry and how special that they were handmade. The owls are a hoot (sorry!). Really though, I could watch them all day. I will look into the book, historical novels are among my favorites. I'm almost done with Northwest Passage by Kenneth Roberts and will trek to the library with a new list in hand.
Hope you are having a bright sunshiney weekend...Kate
PS After I read your last post I read in the paper the company that owns TJ Maxx plans on opening
2000+ more stores in the upcoming year. I hope one near me!
Also, have you ever been in the store Tuesday Morning? It is a step down from TJ Maxx but has some neat things. I think there are some in FL.

Craft fairs are so much fun. How amazing that they had those owls there!

I'll add that book to my list of things to read. I read one of his books....Sarum....it's about the area around Stonehenge. Very interesting book.

Your earrings are great! Really cute.

And the first thing I wondered as you began talking about "New York" was if Pat might've (probably) read it. Sounds interesting!
