I have so much to show you and several blog favorites to share...I don't know where to start!
First, by going to other blogs, I found out about T J Maxx and I love this store. It has a few things that are a little out of the ordinary and that's what I love. I don't like things that are mass produced but this store has a few quirky things mixed in here and there. I know several blogs mention this store but have you visited Happy to Design ? She has so many wonderful ideas and such a beautiful home! She bought the most beautiful tea pot there!
I bought this little sign for my kitchen window at T J's.
I have a glass block window that lets in LOTS of light...too much sometimes. So I made little cafe curtains but I keep them pulled part of the way back and this gave me the perfect spot for the sign.
Well, I had to change it some, of course! I hot glued a sea shell right over the design and VOILA! What do you think about it now?
And are you keeping up with the Winter Olympics? Check this blog...Nana's Kitchen ! She has wonderful photos and info and even a giveaway right now!
She is giving away a pair of the Official Red Mittens!
And now a BIG thank you to Heidi at Dreams Intertwined ! She had a giveaway and I WON! A gift certificate for Anthopologie ! I have been so excited about it that I can't decide what to get! Here's the website, if you have any suggestions on what I should buy! heehee! Anthropologie Don't they have fabulous clothes and things? I spend most of my time looking at the handbags and jewelry! How do you like this handbag?
We have been doing lots of little things around our house that I would like to share! And I have some more blogs to mention and thank yous to give so I'll be back soon for more happy blogging!
Have a wonderful day!

You are so creative! The shell looks wonderful on your sign. I love TJ Maxx, I love how the inventory is different in each one. Sadly the closest one is in Dallas so I don't go very often. I love looking at the stationary and books the most.
Thanks for visiting my sister!
Hi Lavender Dreamer,
I confess, I feel as if I know you from following your comments on Freckled Hen's blog - my sweet baby sister! You have beautiful dolls and a pleasant writing style. Thank you for sharing yourself with others as you have a wonderful disposition! -LB

Congratulations to you! I adore Anthropologie. Everything is to die for there! I really love what you've done with your new beach sign. It's more warm and very personal now...great job! Happy Anthropologie shopping! Theresa
Your hot glued shell really makes the piece special!
Great idea! How have you been?? I've had a lot on my plate lately and haven't been a very good bloggy friend. It's nice to catch up and see your beautiful photos :)
G'morn, sweetie ~
We don't have that store around here, so I am not familiar with it, BUT CONGRATS on your win.
Glad you are back up & running.
Have a beautiful day.
Hugs, Marydon
The dimension of the shell added to the beach sign is tres chic!!!
Love that last photo. Yours?
Hello sweet lady...
I just read your sweet note and of course, had to come right over! My friend, I am just so humbled and yet overjoyed at your "sweet mention" of my blog! Thank you so very much!!! That is just the sweetest!!!
Yes...yes...YES!!! I love TJ Maxx, and for the very same reason as you! I love that they have some really awesome finds...a bit unique and not the same ol'..same ol' mass produced stuff! Hehe! I think that TJ Maxx...is like the discount store for Marshalls. I'm sure that I read that somewhere. I know that as far as their dishware goes...they are "seconds" much of the time...of really expensive dishware! For me...that's great! It gives me the opportunity to have some affordable pretties!!!
Oooh...I love your new "Beach" sign and I also love that you added a real shell to it! It just took that pretty sign up a few notches...customizing it like that! I love it...what a grand idea, my friend! It looks fabulous in your kitchen window with those pretty glass blocks for a background...very "beachy" feeling! I love your pretty lantern and beautiful brown teapot that you have added to that gorgeous vignette! Very...very pretty! Well done, my friend! Thank you for sharing your beautiful "beach" vignette with us!!!
Again, thank you soooo much for the sweet mention! I was really moved by it!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
Ooops...just lil' ol' me again! Hehe!
I really wanted to say Congratulations for winning that fabulous Anthropology gift card! I bet you are excited...you sound like me...now it's just deciding how to spend it at that fabulous place! Hehe! Congratulations, my friend...enjoy your shopping!!!
Chari
How fun that you won the giveaway! What a delight. :)
I once bought a set of notecards from TJ MAxx and I ended up making all kinds of wall art for my kitchen! Cheapest art I ever had but they looked great.
I love the shell you added - the sign needed a little something extra.
We don't have a TJ MAXX : (
I love your beach sign and I like the way you added all those little pretties in front of the window too....very nice! Love the handag!! I'm going to have to go look at that stores site...Have a super day! Hugs, Jennifer
Love your sign!!! And I might as well admit that I just bought one at TJMaxx too (or was it Marshalls, hmmmm), for 4 dollars..., and I plan to add a few shells as well. Me, not the most crafty. But as you probably noticed..., I'm a sucker for all the coastal things others create!
Have a great day!
I like what you did, gluing the seashell on the sign! TJMaxx is a big favorite here!
Anthropologie gift certificate! What fun!
Here in Italy we have not a TJ MAXX ...anyway..Congrats for your win!You are lucky lady :))!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Mila :)
you just have the perfect Beach Cottage. I know its not really but to look around inside it looks just like you could step out the front door onto the sand. Very very cute. Love the sign and all the shells. I especially like the large sand dollars. Lucky you to be where they are so prevelant.
Jan
I love the sign and that shell too, really creative! Suzie. xxx

So you've discovered TJM? I like what you did with your find, adds character. I know you will find something fun at Anthro, I hope you get the chance to see the store sometime! I just love their displays and the one of a kind items that they have in each store. I got an email yesterday from them about free shipping, I will try to forward it to you!

P.S. I live lavender
I dreamed myself into that beach and the craft show, and then to top it all off...those owls. I love them. The Barred owl says, "who cooks for you, who cooks for you all?" Don't you love them?
Thanks for the vacation.
