When Crafting makes you cry....

Do you stop? Do you give up? Do you walk away? Do you throw a fit?

I am very tempted to walk away. I actually DID walk away long enough to get the clothes out of the dryer and take photos of my work space!

I am surrounded by inspiration....

So here I am trying to make the world's smallest Raggedy Ann...

knowing that smaller is more difficult...

Let's see.... I wonder what my sanity is worth! Teehee.....EEEEEE!!!!

Hope you are enjoying your day!

Yes, you can walk away. I did it last month. I was making a project that was driving me crazy. I figured it wasn't worth my sanity or my health to keep trying something that was simply not working. I didn't throw it away. That is the next step. When I can bring myself to!

I'm wondering how you got several posts past me? I typically check out my blog roll to see who's posted. I'm having the strangest thing going on with Firefox. I try to comment and often it won't let me. Has blah-blah-blah and then the word "true" at the very bottom of the page. Know anything about such gobbledegook? Which is why I didn't comment about your brownies.

Oh Diane, I fully understand! Sometimes crafting can be Very frustrating and it's just the kind of thing you're doing that can frustrate me the most! That's one reason I do lots of knitting and crochet, the stress level is very low. The picture of our pin cushion looks beautiful! So glad you enjoy it. Thank you for the fantastic brownie recipe! I'm going to have to try that one. Have a great week! Twyla

Oh, sometimes I just put my hand over my eyes and lay on the floor when things go awry...but somehow I get back up and try again. I hope this is just a brief time in your crafting! It looks like it's coming along and what a great inspirational space you have with all of your wonderful things! Oh my, I just want to thank you for your super generous words..you made my day! Thank you SO very much. I am just pushing along so this encourages me a lot. Have a great rest of the week!

Well, what you did looks okay, why did you stop? Love the pincushion and I have three of the stacker dolls. I love your marble collection. When I garden, it isn't a good day unless I find something pretty in the dirt. I have a collection of marbles, speacial rocks. and old bottles that I have found when I am digging.
Anyway, don't stress because it doesn't do any good for anyone. Just hug one of your already made babies and forget about the rest of the world for awhile. I hug my dogs when I get frustrated.

I'm thinking you might be frustrated because you forgot that the arms had to be stuffed first and sewn into the seam on the torso? Yes? Well, go do something else for a while and have yourself a nice dinner and then when you are ready you can come back and unpick the seam and re-do it and it will all be OK. :-)

Oh boy!

I have actually cried over projects before! REALLY!

You did the right thing: take a break.....go do something fun. It will just work itself out in the meantime!

I always walk away before I toss it into the trash, which, I have done. LOL! It'll all work out when you have your wits about you again.

I know how you feel I often have problems when I am working on my dolls and have to walk away and leave it and then come back, other wise I would cry. I know you can do it so you must go back and work on in again. I alway work on small dolls and find it a lot harder than the larger one, but I do love working on amy dolls.
have a beautiful day Lisa Olive Grove Prims

Just a thought...one trick I've always used while making cloth dolls it to be sure to trim the seams down and then clip into the seam just a bit around curves. I hope this helps.
I also scrolled down to see the "little ones" watching the Super Bowl. It gave me a BIG smile! : )

Stop, walk away, pour a cuppa and re-read all instructions...but never...never...never give up!
You have just gotta believe in yourself Diane...you can do anything you set your mind to, I am sure.
Good luck with your dolly!

The smaller and harder something is to do, the more precious it is. Just my philosphy!

Oh how well I know that feeling, several times when working on quilts I have threatened to 'throw the damn thing out the window'. I find that if I put it away for a week or so and then go back to it, that helps.

I love small fiddly things but find that now my fingers will not co-operate thses days.

If it ain't fun- I ain't doin' it! I'm a lazy crafter!

Thanks for the fun shots, Diane!! ♥
