Sunset over the mountains!

We’ve had some of the most beautiful sunsets this week! So orange…it has reminded me of sunsets over the Rocky Mountains instead of the Blue Ridge Mts!

08Aug

This was taken on one of those cloudy afternoons that produced a thunder shower! Gorgeous!

And here are some of my Goodwill ‘finds’ this week!

I love these little Fire King oven safe bowls! I need to think of something to bake in them!

And maybe I could look in my ‘new’ cookbook!

Probably won’t be making anything from this page! lol

And look at this Fisherman….Made in Japan!

And doesn’t this little lady have sass? (she has 29 stamped on the bottom! Does anyone know what that means?)

Thanks to my blogger buddy from Oodles and Oodles for always inspiring me with her wonderful treasures!

The sky is so pretty. I wish we would have a rainshower it has been so hot and dry lately, I'm tired of watering the plants! No good finds for me this week, but I like yours!

Nope, have hardly even been out in this heat. I would think that number on the bottom might mean the 29th made???

Such cute treasures!

My special find this week - I am totally enjoying my zinnia & petunia flowers. I grew the plants from seed (saved from last year's plants). Today they are just bursting open and it is so cool and rewarding!

Gorgeous skies!!!!

Your Fireking dishes took me back to my childhood. We frequently had baked custard in them with just a hint of nutmeg sprinkled on top.

Beautiful photos as always, Diane! I love your photos! And you found some darling things on your Goodwill excursion this week. I have no idea what the "29" is for, but that little lady is very cute!

Well, yes, I have found something special this week--your blog and the photos of my beloved Blue Ridge Mountains!! I "met" you over on Barbara's blog and am so glad that I stopped by. I grew up in those mountains and miss them in the flat midwest!! I look forward to visiting more of your blog.

Best,
Bonnie

A gal can't have too many beautiful sunsets or too many custard cups. Your Fire King versions were a favorite find of mine a few years ago. I use them every single day!

Hi Diane,
I didn't find anything special but I sure got some wonderful news about my friend. Her tests show that the chemo treatments have been totally successful in attacking her cancer. I couldn't have found anything more wonderful then that news.
I love your little Japanese fisherman. I love flowing blue.
I have to tell you a quick little story about frog legs.... well my cousin and I, when we were very little, took a jar lid and a little bit of oil and took off for the creek where we knew there were loads of frogs. Well, these frogs were probably no bigger then a 50 cent piece but we didn't know that they were suppose to be any bigger. We caught about a dozen little frogs and, I don't know how we could have done this, but we pulled their little frogs legs off and cooked them on a little fire in the jar lid. Hum......... don't know what folks find good about eating frog legs. One of the main reasons we did this is that we had heard that the legs will jump out of the pan. Didn't happen.
Poor little frogs.

Oh where do I start? The sky shots simply wonderful. So much color.

Those Swedish towels, gotta find them in Canada. I'm sold!

The dolls, too cute, how many do you have. So sorry I haven't been dropping by regularly, but you now know the reason.

The other Boylyn Girl, read all of her books, simply wonderful. Enjoy them!

Thanks so much for the kind words.

Hugs to you, Jen
