Vintage Bag Redo!

I love bags...and I love vintage!

I bought this handmade bag at the Thrift Store for a quarter!

DSCN4816

But it was dirty and ugly! (no pics...just take my word for it!)

So I cut out the ugly lining...

DSCN4818

soaked and washed the crocheted bag in Lavender

detergent and made a new liner out of soft muslin!

I even added some vintage crocheted lace for the pocket.

DSCN4817

Added a little tab of velcro and now I can enjoy it!

I found both of these at the Hospice Thrift store this week...

look at the detail of this little evening bag!

(Made in India)

And this bag is made in Japan! (needs a handle)

Happy Thrifting AND collecting!

Those are some fantastic handbags! I really love how the crocheted bag turned out! It must have been quite ugly with that old pink liner in it. You sure did spruce it up, and give it a new life! You have got to be the best thrifter in the whole state!
Big hugs you awesome crafty lady ;)

Darling purses. The crocheted one turned out really pretty with a bath and new liner. I like the white liner better anyway.
Hope you have a great weekend and more great thrifting,
