Let there be LIGHT!

I’m enjoying the ‘condo life’ and we’re getting ready for company in a couple of days! So life is exciting right now!

I love my condo..

DSCN0822

it feels a little like ‘playing house’ to come here! And now that I’ve adjusted, the mountain air is so fresh that it seems to carry it’s own energy!

Two ph0tos can show the whole living room! heehee!

I was happy to see one of my favorite blogs with a new post this morning! Do you visit  Button Willow Cottage? She doesn’t have comments turned on so it’s all about reading and relaxing when you visit her!

Let there be light? We have a small laundry room and when my hubby switched on the nightlight to brighten the windowless room….

DSCN5067

IT BLEW UP! POW!

DSCN5068

Pieces of glass fell into the open laundry hamper so it was a challenge to find it all. And of course he turned it on at 11 PM when we were going to bed. So I hope the neighbors weren’t disturbed by night time vacuuming. They probably thought I was a serious housekeeper!

Do you use nightlights? Have you ever had this happen?

We do use night lights, but this has never happened to us before. Weird! I wonder if humidity caused it...

So glad you are adjusting. That has never happened with a night light. Perhaps the GFI blew and caused it. I thought you were a serious housekeeper LOL.

I've never had this happen either,, I know how hard it is to ajust to a new home,, we didn't move to a condo, its an aprtment but they are now selling them as condos,, big change from a house isn't it and I know just what you mean,, it feels like playing house,, thats just what it feels like.I've been here playing house for seven years,, I love it.We hear nothing here its very quiet and we have great neighbors,, no children in this building,, thats a little sad but it is quiet,I love the photos and I'm so glad you're happy,

Yikes! I use the flat night lights...do you know what I'm talking about? So glad you didn't end up with a big fire.

Yes we do but never had that happen. As long as you two are unharmed, the rest is just cleaning up the mess.

Oh, I love that Giraffe, I have a small collection of wooden carvings and I spotted yours right away. If I were to visit I would come with a very LARGE purse. (o:

So glad to hear you are enjoying your new home. It looks lovely. Sorry about the night light. I've never had that happen to me but I've had a couple of light bulbs blow right out and shatter scaring the life out of me!
I enjoyed yous previous post showing your travels through the south. So sorry to see all that smoke, those poor people.
Have a great weekend.

I am a little confused. I thought you lived in Florida. Are you an official snow bird?

I have night lights but have never had this happen. I don't use Plug Ins that deoderize your home. Those really do catch on fire.

I'd love to have a condo in the mountains. My parents had a cottage in the mountains for years. It was a nice place to get away from the heat.~Ames

Such a relaxed looking livingroom....I do use nite lights and no I have never had that happen....must of gotten some kind of strong surge of power...or maybe it was just faulty... anyway,I am glad it didn't cause a fire for you...blessings

Love your livingroom...the perfect place to relax :) Yes, we use nightlights, but I use the ones that absorb light during the day then glow green at night....no light bulbs, so no "explosions"

You changed your header! Love the mountain scene :D

I have never had a night light explode or pop. Other bulbs, yes. I would have jumped out of my skin!

Your condo is so sweet! So comfy looking!

No, but I'll be nervous from now on because, yes, now that we are older we use nightlights. John especially must have them on.

Interesting blog that allows no comments...wonder what the premise is behind that...do you know...does she say?

Well hello dear one, Sister Mouse implored me to stop by and say hello and have a peek at your cozy little cottage. She was in the area visiting some mountain cousins you see...
It looks as if you had an eventful evening with all the vacuuming going on! (Sister Mouse tells me that the small dwellers around your place heard the vacuuming at such a late hour and they were a bit confused--they do worry so when things are amiss-- but all was peaceful again when a resident cricket reported on the goings on inside...did you see him spying on you?)
It's lovely of you to stop by ButtonWillow and to direct others to our gate!
Warmest thoughts,

Mistress of ButtonWillow Cottage

Hello Diane! I love the idea of the different colors of the two couches. The red and blue green, is it for you and your hubby? It kinda reminded me of the movie Up. I love them!

Glad you are feeling better, Diane! Your condo is lovely.

Years ago the lightbulb in my overhead kitchen table light exploded and caught on fire! I felt so glad I was home and able to extinguish the fire. It was scary!

Hi Diane,
It sounds totally like something that would happen to my husband and I! Ha! I have not had that happen but we have had many odd things happen to us... :) So glad that no one was hurt by the glass. Love your condo! My husband and I have a dream to have our little cottage here in Poulsbo, WA, and rent something for a few months in the winter in Texas or Florida someday when he retires. He says he is going to work as long as he can...so a few more years away. Enjoy your time at your condo. xoxo Kim

It is good to be back at last catching up with your blogging activities, love the new banner but no idea what the message is. We do not use night lights although we did sometimes when the children were tiny, but never had this happen. Enjoy your holiday weekend my friend.

Long ago I had a night light that melted and began smoking, but there was explosion--Just an awful smell.

I now use battery operated candles set on timers to light the way at night.

Love the sweet Giraffe.
