We always enjoy getting back to Florida to see the birds in our feeders!
This year we came back to find a pretty little blue morning glory growing under the bird feeders.
This little black capped chickadee said,
‘Excuse ME...I’m trying to EAT here!’ heehee!
I found this sweet book at the thrift store
and fell in love with the beautiful illustrations!
Jenny Wren’s New House written by Kay Patton, pictures by Irma Wilde, published in 1954.
I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house
for Mosaic Monday!
We’ll begin to see some unusual ‘visitors’ when birds migrate
soon! Do you still have lots of birds in your feeders?

Do you know that we do not use to put feeders for birds in our gardens? It's a shame judging by the lovely pictures I can see in Blogland!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

When I will have a garde I will create a big coloured Hotel for birds,I love them!
....classic wooden Hotel with a yellow balcony and red roof!
Oh so sweet! Enjoy.
Love your feeders! I enjoy watching the birds at the feeders too! Last winter I had about 10 bluebirds in a planter - it was awesome!
I'd also like to thank you for your kind words about my mom. She will be forever missed and kept in our hearts.
What a lovely homecoming welcome from the birds and your beautiful garden
Wishing you a beautiful week

Oh I can see why you like getting back to this!! We love to bird watch also.
Wonderful post. The morning glory is pretty. I enjoy my yardbirds too. The chickadees and wrens are always a treat to watch. Great post and mosaic. Have a wonderful week.
My mom always grew these morning glories in our backyard--your picture brought back some good memories! I also love the book--right up my alley--I would have grabbed this one up too!

I actually remember that little book from my childhood. I was so taken by the illustrations. Great post!
I remember that book too - the sweet illustrations and the lovely, soft use of the colours. I loved it!
We also get so much enjoyment out of the birds in the garden. V
We have quite a few regulars at our bird feeders but my favourites are the cardinals and chickadees.

Not many summer birds here, most have left for the winter. They will be heading your way. Sweet little book, love the pictures. Take care and have a great week.
Beautiful mosaics. We keep feeders all winter and enjoy the birds so much. During summer we feed hummingbirds. Fun to watch their antics.
Lots of birds in our yard still, of course it's warm here in NC. We've had some unusual ones this year but I just enjoy them and never search out their names ... maybe when I'm retired! Guess you have left our fair state by now!
That's a sweet book and 1954 was a great year. Yes, you'll be seeing lots of visitors coming along any day now. What fun that must be!
What a sweet book. You are reminding me that our feeders are empty already. I'm guessing our naughty raccoons have full tummies again.
Those old children's stories are so sweet, and the illustrations are full of innocence.
What pretty birds you have.
I wish I was getting back down to Florida!
Love the book!
Have a great week!

I finally gave up on the bird feeder when I saw how chubby the squirrels were getting!
Blessings, Joanne
I too love to watch the birds my friend...we have some pretty little ones around here...adorable book. xoxo
Beautiful mosaic monday. We have lots of birds coming over, we also have a pair of parakeets -- noisiest birds ever! Hope you have a fab weekend my dear...hugs/MK
Love that book. Wonder if you can find it on line anywhere? The issustrations are so cute. I had the prettiest bluebird (quite large) eating seeds from one of my sunflowers this morning. By the time I ran to grab the camera he was flying away. Darn, isn't that just how it goes?
I wish we could still feed the birds around our home, but we stopped when a little chipmunk kept getting stuck inside the feeders. We still have the bird bath out for them though.
Have a great week.
hugs,
Cindy
So sweet! Thanks for sharing! I love feeding the birds!
Have a nice week,
Markus
We have a Mockingbird family that calls our place home, and they hang out near the blue morning glory. Birds are great for sharing seeds and growing plants. You never know what may pop up!
Sweet book!
I love having birds at the feeder. Always so entertaining. I love children's books .... the older the better! Looks like you found a winner!
What a sweet post! You always come up with the most unique ideas for Mosaic Monday!
Enjoy your lovely birdfeeders LD...and your beautiful fall weather in Florida.

The only bird feeder I have out is for the hummingbirds and they are very active right now. I don't usually put out other bird feeders until it gets a little cooler. I love your cute little "Jenny Wren" book!!!
How sweet! And I adore those images from the book too! I have 2 birdhouses in the back yard and just love hearing them sing me good morning :)!
Enjoy!
Hugs, Cyn xo
What a cute book! We didn't put up bird feeders when we moved in to this house... too many cats around. But we have had some very cool winged visitors in the trees out back.
Love these images and that little book really does have such lovely images. Truly from "my" generation! :-) Have a beautiful week!!!
I enjoy watching and listening to the sparrows. They are enjoying the last of the sun-flower seeds. What a sweet looking little book!
I love Morning Glories. They were my father's favorite flower, so I have planted some in my yard :)
Hi Diane,
I love your Morning Glory....how beautiful! We have a bird feeder, too, and I love seeing the little ones come there to feed. Am busy preparing for a trip to Houston for my son and his fiance's bridal shower. They are having a Baja theme shower for couples on Saturday. Should be fun! I will post some photos next week after the event. Today, I have added another item to my list of "favorite things" on my blog. I LOVE your little book that you have found. Have a beautiful day today my dear friend. Off to do errands.... Love ya, Kim
Those pictures in the book are so sweet! I do have a lot of birds at my feeder and just yesterday there was a turkey vulture in my backyard! I almost fell off my chair, it was so huge! Unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture of it through the window. Pretty amazing, though.
Cindy
Beautiful mosaic! Love feeding the birds...very sweet book!
Thank you for the nice comment on my new Happy Me Stress Free blog. I'd love to have you come follow :)
lovely morning glory..the leaf looks different than the traditional morning glory leaf. it is usually heart shaped. but Im no expert...Im into owls again I wish I could see a real on..does anyone know how to attract a screech owl to come. I heard they make owl houses. but i read that must owls do not build a nest.they use old ones from other birds
We love feeding the birds in the winter mostly..cute childrens book :)
Happy Monday!
You have a beautiful blog. I have not had a garden this year since we just moved last winter so I need to get the birdhouse out for next year. Thanks for sharing Anne
The book you featured brings back memories to me - one that seems so familiar or perhaps it was another by the same illustrator. We are seeing flocks of geese here and just last week there were some robins enjoying a stop on the front lawn. thanks for your visit!
The morning glory is such an unexpected pretty sight. The Jenny Wren books had the cutest stories and beautiful pictures. Thanks for reminding me of how muchI enjoyed them.-----Shannon
Isn't it fun to watch the sweet little birds? The pictures in the book are adorable. I was watching the birds in the birdbath just this morning.
Oh wow, I remember Jenny Wren and I was born the year it was published!!!
XO

Sweet book! :)
Thanks for having left a comment on my blog during the One World One Heart event. Maybe you want to check out my Oktoberfest giveaway (still open until October 2nd). It would be nice to welcome you back to my blog.
Greetings from Munich, Germany,

What a lovely surprise! I have morning glories all around my house on trellises -- they come back year after year, even with our harsh winters they re-seed themselves. That book is just ADORABLE!
This makes me want to go get a bird feeder. Also love the books they are so cute.
