My Very Best!

I stand on my balcony and take a lot of photos of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. But this photo really shows the way the clouds lay on the mountains

and I think it’s my very best!

A Shy Mosaic Monday

Have you seen the Smash Journals? I’ve had time to play with mine the past couple of months and wanted to share some of the pages. (I feel a little shy showing my art and the things I’ve written so this is just a glimpse)

It was perfect timing when Marcia sent me Paris tags....

and Cameron sent me a package filled with stickers, tags and cut outs.

I used tags and graphics from other friends, too.

I wanted it to be an ‘art journal’ but I’ve written more than I’ve sketched. But it’s a work in progress and I keep skipping around and doing a little here and there. And it’s....

The Shopping network?

I feel like the shopping network on my blog lately but when we come back to NC, we’re coming home so I’m always anxious to stop by and see friends and shop at my favorite stores!

I’ve been shopping here for years and still know that I will be in for a surprise every time I visit.

 

The store is stocked with lots of artsy and eclectic items...both old and new!

There are beautiful items throughout the store.

And if that’s not enough, meet Jan....the owner!

She is delightful and always makes you feel welcome!

It was hard to walk away without a new journal...

but it was impossible to walk away without a lantern!

I bought one for my bedroom in Florida!

It will be the perfect touch of whimsy for my room!

I was searching Etsy....I know it’s addictive...for sea glass jewelry and found this precious angel pendant!

You can never have too much sea glass....or too many angels!

I bought this from Beth at Beach Glass Shop HERE ! I noticed that for this month she has a SALE going on AND free shipping!

    

She has some amazing jewelry in her shop!

I also got a sweet package from Marydon last week.

 

I won this fabric in her giveaway on Blushing Rose HERE ! I’m thinking of owls! Wouldn’t they be sweet in this pretty fabric?

I also got a beautiful card and photos from my friend, Pat.

She went on a fabulous vacation with her daughter, Amy and sent me photos!

I’m sharing things I’ve received over the past 2 months....so don’t think I got these all today! lol Don’t you love getting happy mail?

It sounds like all I’ve done is shop on this trip

but I had a mission to find something on this excursion!

Aaahhh....I found them!

Etsy Finds and FUN stuff!

We’ve been in NC for almost 2 months now and I’ve spent more time inside than usual....so I’ve been Etsy shopping!

My hubby’s afraid to leave! He knows when he gets home I’ll have something ‘new’ to show him! But isn’t Etsy the BEST! And the people that sell on Etsy are all so talented!

I ordered these primitive tucks from my girlfriend and penpal, Brenda.

At first I put them in a bowl with one of my Annie dolls....

but then I thought they looked cute on my shelves.

The owl and the sheep were my favs but oh, how I love the birds and roosters she has listed now!

Then I decided I really ‘needed’ a new Raggedy Ann and I found this one at Brush Creek Primitives HERE ! Her blog is HERE !

Biltmore Village “Mosaic Monday”

We drove over to Biltmore Village to buy bagels at Bruegger’s and decided to walk around a bit. It was a quiet morning because it had just rained.

The shops are all so unique and beautiful.

I left my hubby in a Fishing outfitters store and walked next door to Lilly Pulitzer to ‘browse’. I didn’t buy anything! I think all of the consignment shops have spoiled the fun of seeing jeans that are $150 and knit tops that are around $100. But I was tempted by one of the cute journals and some of the ‘less’ expensive bags. It’s just fun to look, don’t you think? (is he looking for ME?)

I made my mosaic in Picassa and then took it to Picmonkey for a few effects.

I couldn’t decide which one I liked best!
