The Bend in the Road

We took a little drive after dinner and just as we ‘rounded the bend’ we saw this beautiful country church.

IPModThree21Oct

I wanted to put a pretty ‘country church’ quote on one of my photos but I had no idea how hard it would be to find one if you googled ‘country church’!

One of best quotes I found didn’t apply to my photos but I like it so much that I’ll share it with you.

“I'm more spiritual than I am religious.

I don't go to church; I go to the beach.”

~ PAULA DEEN

(you all KNOW how much I love the ocean!)

I love that quote. I think quiet and private time is so good for being spiritual. Enjoy your Sunday. xo, Susie

What a lovely but simple little church! You did great adding the quote. I do attend church, but not every Sunday - I also feel that God is in our earth {and we need to treat it better}, and enjoying a day at the beach, in the mountains, or just talking a walk in the woods to enjoy CREATION and its beauty is indeed both spiritual and religious {in my opinion} I feel that you don't have to be inside of a man made building to worship God.
Happy Sunday to you!

We've had a miserable summer and autumn so far with just a few 'good' days now and then which is when we jump in our cars and go to the beach ...or woods....or somewhere. It was lovely last Sun and I persuaded my husband to go to the woods to see the colour but it wasn't 'quite there' . so I appreciate seeing others beautiful sights. Thanks you for this! Joan

There is such beauty in these photos. Autumn in some areas of the country is a lovely time of year and I can see why people say it's their favorite season. Happy Sunday. Hugs

Blessings, my sweet friend!
What beautiful North Carolina scenery. We lived in East Tennessee for 13 years and made trips to NC regularly. It is so spectacular in the Fall. I love the many country churches that dot the landscape. I like the quote you shared. I have always considered the beach my special sanctuary.
Hugs and prayers your way,
Carolynn xo

So Pretty with the Fall colors.
The colors are just now really showing around here. We had rain early yesterday and big drop in temps and I could really tell the difference in the neighborhood trees today.

Hi Diane,

Oh your mosaic is lovely!! In addition to the gorgeous leaves this time of year, don't you love those beautiful skies and colorful sunsets? We've seen some spectacular ones around here.

How neat that we both posted on little country churches this week. I do love to photograph churches. I'm glad you're still enjoying autumn in the North Carolina mountains.

Have a wonderful week!

Denise

Sweet little country church. I am more drawn to woodland scenes than ocean ones. I enjoy one day a year at the ocean and that's enough, but if I had only one day a year of the woods, I'd be sunk. Very pretty mosaic with the sunset and the church. The leaves look so rosy like the sky.

A very picturesque country church. I attend church every Sunday, but I think God speaks anywhere, especially out in nature. A beautiful mosaic.

Love that little church, and the scenery around it is fantastic! You need to make a post card or greeting card out of the last church picture with the fall colors!

Aahh... Autumn.
Our fall days have been cut short with our first, and heavy, snowfall that began on Saturday. It is winter in Europe already!

Incidentally, I was wondering if you would like to host a JuanitaTortilla giveaway. I am sponsoring!

Lovely images. As we head into our winter season, it is actually a time of growth -- flowers can now survive since the daytime temperatures are slowing coming down. :) Wishing you a wonderful week. Tammy

such a treat to discover a new place, to just "happen" on something special. Yes I know what it is like to be searching for a quote, but never quite find what you want. I am loving seeing your fall colours. It is something that doesn't really happen here as our trees are evergreen. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Take care and have a wonderful week.

Such a beautiful church. Great photos! Like that quote as well. A few Sundays ago I went outside and the trees were bursting with color. I was overwhelmed with how gorgeous it was and I stayed outside for hours just looking around. When I came back inside I felt like I had been to church! Such a spiritual day.

Visiting from sunny simple life :)
