I was so happy to find a beautiful planter at the Thrift Store yesterday.
I picked it right up and started to head for the check out (it was a QUICK trip).
I looked at the price on the way and saw it was $3 and immediately thought…WOW…that’s a LOT!
But after looking online a bit, I realize it was a GREAT deal! She’s stamped Designer and under that Made in the USA and has some wonderful glazing.
I’ve moved her around to a few locations in my bedroom looking for the perfect spot.

Isn't it funny when we think that three dollars is a lot. :-) Anyway, I think she would look good with lobelia (sp?) coming out of the top.
I'm having a spring sale on all my vegan, handcrafted soaps. Be sure to stop in and look around. :-)
what a great find! going to the thrift store can be so exciting..my latest find was a handmade pottery bowl..holds about 3 quarts...I emailed a pic to my daughter..who has spent over a thousand dollars on her pottery collection...and she recognized it right away...went on line and it sells for almost $60...I paid $3

I would probably leave her as is, but on special occasions I might put pretty flowers in her. Maybe a beautiful Easter bonnet for Easter :D.

They say you lose most of your body heat through the top of your head, so I would try to warm her up by putting a plant in there....it's gotta' be cold in that ceramic!

Oh I can just see her wearing the hat of the month...since its March how about a jaunty green green plaid one one with a wee shamrock. you could use her to decorate for any holiday, or festive occassion.
I realize that she was "to the manor borne", but she really might enjoy cavorting with the plain-folks for a year or two.

She is lovely. I think that price is a bargain. Two summers ago I paid $10.00 at a yard sale for the identical one. I love her and would buy her again but found out she does not hold water well. I have a small glass jar I found fitted into her so she can have a floral "hat". You might want to test yours first if you think you might put flowers in her.

I have a head vase that is very similar (I leave her "open," but they do look pretty neat with flowers too).
I think she needs green hair...an angel hair fern! I went antiquing today and didn't find a thing! :/

My 88 yr old mother has been collecting head vases since her 30's. she always says this one is Greta Garbo. Head vases can be quite costly Greta is fairly common but you still got a good deal. My mother bought hers at the dime store. She bought them for a dollar or two. She can't believe when some go for hundreds of dollars now. Do u think the stuff we buy in the dollars stores will be worth big money 50 - 60 yrs from now?

I think she's beautiful! I like her plain, but I'd also like fresh feminine bouquets of seasonal flowers too. Since it's so close to St. Paddy's day's day you could experiment with green mini carnations!

Diane, I don't own any head vases, but I know that they are mega bucks. You got a great deal! She looks like she belongs there. I like her in her simplicity, but fresh roses from the garden now and then would be lovely. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
