“Birds of a Feather” Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park

We had a treat in store for us when we stopped at this State Park. We had no idea it was laid out just like a zoo. We saw all kinds of animals…most native to Florida but today I’ll share a few bird photos.

FlamIMG_2003

These are all right out of the camera.

A few I took to IPICCY to put frames on.

BirdsFrameIMG_2063

And I have to admit, hubby took most of the photos.

EgretFrameIMG_2032

I get so excited looking at everything that I’m like a little kid in a candy shop.

What do you think the dark blue background is?

BirdIMG_2040

This park is less than an hour from our house so we’ll visit again soon.

FlamIMG_2026

I’m pretty sure I took this one…

maybe I could make a bookmark!

I can’t WAIT to go back! Want to come?

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday,

and Mosaic Monday.

Lovely images pretty lady. It's funny that Arizona is now considered a destination for bird watching. We have many parks that have lakes and are becoming a permanent home for the migratory birds that fly south. We've got the egrets, herons, stilts, even pelicans and seagulls now. Our bio-diversity is amazing here, and during the cooler morning hours I can usually spot shorebirds running around in my front yard......so weird for a desert!

Have a lovely week.

Hugs,
Meri

Hi Diane
I purchased a nice colour foldout of the birds of Florida so I can identify them when we're down. There are so many pretty and colourful varieties, thanks for sharing these ones. I could watch flamingos for hours.
