“Primitives”

Oh, how I love my ‘prims’!

LR3Mosaic

This year I’m decorating with vintage and prims and I’m loving it all!

cropIMG_0335

Two years ago I won a HUGE giveaway sponsored by Primitive and Folk Artists - a team of talented artists! Some of these items were made by these talented ladies, some I made and others I bought from Etsy and the thrift store.

My giveaway post is HERE if you missed it.

It’s so much fun to get all of my treasures out and decorate with prims.

It helps to have my new bookcases to really show them off.

The other side…

And this year I won a primitive snowman from my girlfriend, Wendy at Ravenwood Whimzies.

So he found a special place to sit and I provided a little ‘snow’ to make him feel at home.

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday,

What is your style of decorating this year?

Hi Diane, oh your prims are so decorative and perfect on your new gorgeous bookcase. I love the wonderful variety you have collected and won. I used to paint and design only primitives at one time for my shop. Then shabby chic hit. LoL. I still like to create folk art though and still decorate with my favorites. This year I have decorated traditional with natural elements and touches of red along with neutrals too.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year.
Hugs!

I love Xmas/winter prims too. Very cute and old-fashioned looking!

Love your prims, especially displayed along with your books which I know you love so much.
Decorating style for me this year is SIMPLICITY. We should have been in our permanent home by now, but it looks like this transitional house season has extended a bit and I was almost rebelling with my Christmas decor, until my husband brought home a table top tree that I decorated with starfish and burlap, followed by our floor tree decorated with 28 years worth of ornaments and plenty of red and green plaid. My favorite decorations; however, are the cards that arrive in the mail with warm wishes from beautiful friends like you, sis. Thank you.
Wishing you a very merry.

It all looks so festive on your bookcase! I am trying to switch things up this year and get out of my rut of putting the same old things in the same old spots each year. That means some things didn't come out this year at all so THAT is quite a change for me.

I love the country feel of all your "prims" (didn't know that is what we call them now!). They look very snug tucked in your bookcases. Merry Christmas! Wendy xox

Wow! That was quite a giveaway that you won. Lots of cute things! Our style is quite eclectic for Christmas decorating. We use ornaments and decorations we've collected over the years. We've added some new trees this year and we try to add a few new decorations each year.

I used to decorate our home with country and primitive style then realized I had a lot of cottage and farmhouse style hand me downs so changed my style. But, I still love the primitive/country look and colours for their cosiness and homey appeal especially in the fall and at Christmas. You have some cute things Diane. This year I decorated in a mix of cottage/vintage/nature. A fun mix. :)

Diane, you lucky girl! You're on a roll winning giveaways, and it couldn't happen to a nicer person. The primitive decor you won is so much fun, some talented crafters for sure. I used to use quite a bit of primitive things I crafted myself but now I'm enamoured with a cottage victorian look.
How I'd like to personally browse your bookcases, I know you read a lot of good books.
Merry Christmas.

What a wonderful collection you have with one piece complementing another. So many of my Christmas things are different, but they don't seem to mind being seen together.

I could just move right in and be at home with all your prims. I decorated with my prims this year and think I will continue this new tradition. The snowman you won is adorable. I love the way each of your characters has a different personality.

Your prims are lovely. How fun to win things that add to your collection.
My style? Simple, pared down, nature elements - it's hard to pin it down. But good food for thought.

Your decorating for the holidays is so pretty and like you ...I love it all....vintage, primitive, passed down...it's all wonderful at Christmas time.
My decorating this year has been very little. I got some outside decorations up when it was warm then we had the snow here for a week and couldn't get out then torrential rains and the sump pump went out but at least I got the presents in the mail and now I'm taking the dog to the vet today so who knows if I'll get anything up! LOL! I'll probably rely on my Aunt's ceramic Christmas tree and make some Christmas cookies today. Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!
