Got Pets?

Well I do now! I made myself some kitty cats!

IMG_1945

They were so much fun because they each took on their own personality when I stitched their sweet faces.

IMG_1932

And yes, one is a little smaller than the other.

IMG_1942

(it’s a long story! Oh, you say you have time? The first cat I made was solid white but his head was too small for his body? Don’t you hate when that happens? heehee! So I made a bigger head for the white one. Oh, now I have an extra head but no more white terry fabric!!! So I made another one with a smaller body out of the very last of the flowered terry! WHEW! I’m glad I got all that out. I was afraid we were all going to have to go in for therapy. hahahaha)

I am not a cat lover, but yours are an exception. And the story behind their "conception" is priceless. How talented (and patient) you are. I would have given up when the head was the wrong size ;) Linda@Wetcreek Blog

Oh, how darling! I love your little kitties and you did a beautiful job on them. I love the flowery terry cloth. I guess you could use a towel to make these kitties? Did you have a pattern? You know I'm wanting to make one now! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia;)

LOVE this post! I had to laugh at the 'head too small for the body'! But you found a way to make it work! And that first pic is so perfect-we have 2 kitties (I adore cats!) and that's just how they look always peering out the windows! :)
Oh, and I agree-blogging is great therapy!

LOVE your kitties - and the cute story that goes with them! I think you will appreciate that yours need no litter box - over here, with 6 cats in residence, cleaning them is a full time job. "Go ahead, honey! Grab the scoop! It's your turn!" became my favorite saying once hubby retired!

Susan said...

LOL! At least you don't have to clean a litter box or get pet fur off your furniture! Love your creativity and I do think blogs are better than therapy, XOXO

Oh Diane, your new kitties are adorable. You know I'm a cat lover and I really like Peaches and Patches since they don't shed like Charlie does (still I love him so much). You are so darn talented!

Oh Diane, the cats are just too cute. I would love to have a live pet, but simply cannot afford the care (it would be unfair to the pet). So, stuffed animals will have to fill the bill for me, lol. Yes, I really do think that blogging is great therapy. Being disabled, it sure keeps me in touch with the world and is a wonderful place to find some great friends, like you :)
