Sewing for Fun! “Wednesday Wee Ones”

I wanted to spend some time sewing for my dollies and they ‘sew’ needed new nighties!

So first I used a pattern from littleabbee that I got from Etsy HERE.

I had a problem with my printer. (it printed a couple of pieces too small so I had to make adjustments)

I have lots of dolls so this mismatched set of pjs fit Grace perfectly.

Then I made a little gown for Ginger from a free pattern from Pickled Okra HERE. It was SEW quick and easy!

 

And the little red robe that Noel is wearing is made using a free pattern from Fleece Fun HERE. The fleece is so easy to work with and there’s not as much hemming needed.

It was so much fun! But I think they’ll be staying in their pjs for awhile! haha!

A Vintage Year!

I’ve had such fun with my vintage finds this year.

I made this little rag garland out of pretty pinks for the little doll cradle that I found this summer in NC.

Year in Review ‘Mosaic Monday’

I’ve never created a ‘year in review’! And it’s HARD!

It’s been an eventful year and I blogged about most of it. So I wanted to show a representation of each month or of the things that meant the most to me.

But I gave up on that! lol

So these are a random hodgepodge of photos I shared. (and a few I did in Waterlogue and colored pencil effects)

I sewed dolls and bears…elephants and bunnies, and various other animals!

We spent time in Florida and at our home in the mountains of NC.

I had fun thrift store shopping and read some really good books. (I read 45 books this year)

AND I HIKED…50 hikes total for the year 2014! We hiked at Halpata Taskanaki Preserve, Ross Prairie, Silver River State Park, Canaveral National Seashore, Withlacoochie Trail and the Cross Florida Greenway. It’s been such fun and we’ve seen some amazing sights along the way.

And last but not least. It was kind of a big deal to go from blond to gray. But I’m glad I did.

I Believe! Wednesday Wee Ones

So…Santa came early to our house!

I wanted a pretty doll that I could sew for and Santa must have known! I got the most beautiful Madame Alexander doll to play with.

But she was lonesome, so another one showed up on my doorstep!

Meet Noel and Ginger.

They are best friends, already sharing secrets!

Nana Diana is one of Santa’s elves so she sent me doll clothes patterns and we are busy in the sewing room cutting and destroying making clothes. Thank you sweet girlfriend!

Thanks to my girlfriend, JoAnn for telling me about these dolls. She has some, too!

We love new dollies for Christmas.

This little Pixie went to the ocean,

these little pixies stayed home,

‘wee wee wee’ all the way home!

We had a beautiful day of 75 degree weather so we spent the day at Canaveral National Seashore.

And guess who came along?

I’m a poet and didn’t know it!!!

Happy Holidays at Home

We love being in Florida for the holidays and hope to be at the beach on Christmas day.

I decorate just a little in every room and this year, I decided the shell tree would be perfect for my ‘new’ blue bathroom.

I like putting a wreath or berries on the boat, too.

And here’s a quick glimpse of our living room.

What a treat it’s been to get lots of pretty Christmas cards this year.

I decided to put them on the library table, so that we can stop by and pick each one up and look at it again. Lots of cute photos from friends and grandkids, too.

A few special touches in the bedroom, too.

Christmas in Florida is not complete without….

Santa arrived ‘in style’!!!

And all of the golf carts were beautifully decorated!

We went to the annual Golf Cart Parade near our home. (we could WALK to it)

I ‘Danced’ with Shirley Temple!

When I opened my pressie from my best friend Pat,

I danced with Shirley Temple!

Pat makes the neatest ‘paper’ dolls. They are actually made out of wood so I took a couple of photos this time to share.

You can see the little peg in front that helps the clothes attach to her.

Then I got my book out that Linda sent and helped Shirley into her snowsuit so that she could play in the snow.

We played in the snow!

And then we danced some more!
