A ‘Half a Hike’ for Good Fences “Orange Creek”

We found a really beautiful hiking trail but it was TOO HOT to hike!

‘Orange Creek Restoration Area’

IMG_3134

We walked around for about 30 minutes but it was 90 degrees so that’s as long as we lasted.

IMG_3060

I thought about adding 1/2 to my ‘total hikes’ on the sidebar, Carla (from The River) but decided not to! lol

IMG_3061

It even had a swampy area and we saw a pileated woodpecker while we stood there looking around.

We’ll go back when the weather is better.

How do you like the one fence post I got in this shot, Tex?

I’m joining Tex for the

Good Fences party!

Goodness! You've got to get there early in the morning, but that swampy area makes me nervous!

It looks beautiful there! My favorite is the first shot. Funny how it looks so cool and shaded and not hot, lol..:)

Nice hike, but don't let me hear you complain about the heat. Lol You could send some of it up our way. :-))) Don't you love the pileated woodpecker! Have a wonderful Thursday, Diane.

Nice pics. It's always hotter up there, breezier in SoFlo thanks to the ocean. Stay cool, friend.

Hi,
I like that 1/2 of hike. :-) I love how you keep track of your hikes. You journal each one as well, right? I like to write down if we saw any animals or if something happens to one of us. This last hike we took on Saturday, one of my boys got stuck in the mud. LOL
I love your photos today.

Looks like a great trail, but don't blame you for turning back with that heat! We're still sitting at 0'C for the past few weeks, so it sounds surreal to me. Loved your litte Sunbonnet Sue embroidery too Diane! Looks great, and those pillowcases bring back childhood memories as my mother (or grandmother) embroidered our pillowcases ;)

You will have to go hiking earlier in the day before it reaches 90 degrees! A bit on the warm side, for sure. The pictures are very inviting..doesn't look all that hot!

90 degrees...wow! I can see why you didn't stay long in that heat. Wish it would warm up here but maybe not quite that warm.
Loving the moss hanging from the trees in the first fence shot. I liked the lone fence post shot as well.

Your hikes are so gorgeous, Diane. The woodpecker must have been a sight for you.

And I just wanted to say that I love your Header with all the dolls - it's so charming. It caught my eye right away.

90 degrees in FL is HOT!
Love the crooked old fence post and I think 1/2 hike would be a good sidebar entry! lol xo Diana

We have had hot muggy weather too-it's that time of the year, I guess but seems to early for us. Thank goodness a wild thunderstorm passed threw last night and cooled everything off.
You are clever-one fence post!
Have a good weekend,

It certainly is a beautiful spot and maybe you can get back there in the fall when it's cooler. It's 34 here today and we had freezing rain earlier. Quite a contrast with your temperatures eh? I kind of wish I could feel the 90 degrees for a bit. LOL I'd wilt under that heat too! Have a great weekend.

Sam I Am...... said...

Whew! I can wait for the heat....I don't like it along with the humidity. You are brave souls to go out in it. It's early to be that hot even there isn't it?

Oh I love the shot of that hiking trail - looks lovely. Come to think of it, 90 degrees sounds good too.

Oh sure, rub it in, too hot to hike! The sun is shining here right now but it is also snowing, how in the heck does that happen?! Lovely shots Diane, hope you can get back to finish your hike when it cools down :O)

Doreen@foxdenrd said...

Maybe you can send about 20 degrees our way and then we'd both be in the perfect 79's?! Deal?

Sallie (FullTime-Life) said...

Oh I love that half hike idea .. We doa lot of those it seems. And sometimes we don't even need hot weather as an excuse ))). Very pretty area for it and for the drive above!
