We were driving to the Gulf Coast one afternoon and I took photos of train tracks,
hubby took pics of this old black engine
and I took this antique train car from the window of our vehicle.
You never know what you’ll see when you drive the back roads. But you can always be sure, it will be interesting!
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday and
Lavender Cottage for Mosaic Monday
and Amaze me Monday.
All Aboard!!!

I just love trains, and really enjoyed your pictures this morning. Thanks for sharing these! Have a good week.
Very neat!
Diane, I love driving the back roads. That's where all the scenery is . I love trains.:):) Hope you have a beautiful week. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Theres something so romantic about trains. Love the photo of the tracks! xo
I love train tracks and trains! I don't know what it is about the tracks that fascinate me -- I suppose it is the fact that they seem to go on forever and can take you anywhere. Or maybe it is the history behind them -- that they connected the East Coast and West Coast and allowed families to visit each other once they moved...way back when! Great photos!! Have a great day!
What fun! I love the treatment on that last photo, Diane! And I am always happy to see train tracks. Trains fascinate me. :-)
I have a good friend who enjoys train watching. He is always on the lookout for trains. However, after taking a video of a train one day, Homeland Security showed up at his house to see why he was taking a video. We laughed about it but glad to know that our law enforcement officers are looking out for our safely!!
Wonderful photos and mosaic Diane! It looks so nice and sunny and warm there. Sigh.... I like the watercolour of the engine too. Have a wonderful week.
Fun photos! My Grandson loves trains and is always on the lookout for them.
hugs,
Linda
How I love trains! The most romantic way to travel, without a doubt.

What fun to find the old railroad cars - so much more interesting than the new ones - although a new Amtrak train is certainly interesting. We are planning on taking Amtrak down to Seattle and back one of these days - the track runs right along the bay for a long time - below monstrous cliffs and has amazing views.
I always love that you find such varied subjects to post about. Have a happy week dear friend.
I love trains and it looks like everyone else does too! One year the two oldest children and myself traveled from Gurnee Illinois to Pocatello Idaho on a train! It was so exciting, the scenery was fascinating- we felt so adventurous!
Have a lovely week,
Warm Hugs,
Jemma
Thanks for sharing the trains.
We've taken several scenic tours by rail over the years. They bring you right up close and personal with the beauty of nature.
What fun and pretty pictures of the trains. Have a wonderful day, Heather
Back roads are the best, Diane! Lovely RR track photos...and the Waterlogue one of the engine is awesome!
Those trains and train tracks remind me of when I used to travel by train with my mom in order to visit my grandparents.
Thanks for sharing these photos with us and keep having lots of fun,
Arlette
Hello Diane, It is fun taking the back roads.. And it is easier to stop and take photos too. I love the trains, the old engine and the antique car.. Great captures.. Have a happy day and new week ahead!
I enjoyed your photos. We love taking less travelled roads too and coming across something to photograph that's blog worthy. That's funny about Arlene's comment above - that would really startle you for homeland security to show up!
Hello Florida sis, spotted you over at LV's and couldn't resist clicking. :)
LOVE your pics. The black engine is so impressive.
Thx for sharing.
xoxo
Who doesn't love a nice old-fashioned train. I'm glad you take the back roads ;)

I've always loved taking photos of train tracks. Haven't done that in a long time.

Julie
Those trains hopped the tracks! =D
Love the train photos! Trains are just so wonderfully cool. I love riding them and would love to take a trip across the country on one.
Have a great week!
I agree the backroads are such much more fun!
Back roads are the best. You miss so much of life when you stay on the interstate. xo Laura
The best kind of drive Diane when both of you can find something of interest.
Didn't the Waterlogue photo of the engine turn out fantastic! The trees look like birds.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
I miss the lonely sound of the distant train whistle we could hear when we lived on our farm.
Your photos brought back those cherished memories.
Great post, Diane.
Have a great week.
Debbie
Great post! My Dad was a big train collector. Poor guy can't even get in to the basement anymore to see his trains but I am sure he would love this post. Hope you have a great week!

Hi Diane! Oh, I love this! My hubby just love trains and was the Chairman of the Board of the historical train museum in Galveston. I love your Waterloged one too! Thanks so much for popping in to see me and I can tell you're having fun.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love your train photos!! Just over and down the road...we have train tracks and I love to listen for the train whistle at night as I go to sleep.
hugs,
Cindy
That was an awesome trip, Diane...I like your photos. When my son was a little boy he loved trains for years. I think he could have run the railroad at three! These brought back some fun memories.
Love the watercolor of the train.
Sending hugs,
Marianne xo
Yay, thanks for the train ride! We love seeing them and the few chances we've had to ride them are never to be forgotten! We totally agree with you on taking the back roads as often as possible!
That first picture stole my heart, Diane, because my grandfather worked for the railroad, and I love trains and train tracks. That is a cool picture your husband took also.
Have a terrific week.
love, ~Sheri
I love your train and tracks mosaic! Unique!
Our country used to run on train lines! Colorado has a wonderful outdoor train museum full of old engine and cars such as these as well as many other types. It's so fascinating to see them all.
I love the train photos. xoxo Su
I love old trains - my father worked on the railroad when I was little.
Love trains, great pics!
Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY.
Blessings,

Beautiful photos, Diane, of those countryside tracks, green, open spaces and blue skies! Your artsy photo of the train is striking!
