Library Books

Do you have an IPAD or a Kindle? Have you ever checked out ebooks from your library?

index

I read books on my IPAD using a Kindle app and I love it! How nice to find the brand new Thomas Perry book, A String of Beads as an ebook that I could check out for 2 weeks. It’s a Jane Whitefield novel and oh, how I love this series. Jane is a Seneca Indian and I loved this character from the beginning. (I think I’ve read all of Thomas Perry’s books but haven’t updated them in Goodreads)

Hubby was sweet to check this book out of the library for me this week, too.

I was also able to check out The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up as an ebook. It has some GREAT reviews!

I’m joining Ricki Jill for Literary Friday.

Check your library’s website to see what’s available.

I have been intrigued by the Magic of Tidying Up. Seems every where I turn someone is talking about it!! I tend to be fairly organized but I would like to read that one just to see her ideas. And I also did a library post today. Great minds think alike!!:)

I keep forgetting to check my library's website for e-books. Thanks for the heads up! That last book you mentioned is all over the blogosphere, it seems (or has been in the recent past). Guess I need to see what all the hubbub is about, eh? Have a blessed day, sweet Diane!

What did you think of Life Changing Magic? It's everywhere in blogland right now but I'm not sure if that's because they are sponsored posts or not.

Have we talked about the library before? I love it!! My husband uses the Texas Library for the Blind so he can download his books and listen to them. What a wonderful thing. :)

I tried our library's En system once and it was difficult to navigate , and I already had so much to read on the Kindle and Kindle app. Maybe I will give it another try. Your titles look good, but right now I have started two books at once plus my daily Bible schedule! That's a good kind of overload though 😊 hope you have a great day!

I couldn't do with out my e-reader, I read much more now. It is so easy to buy from the app store or download from the library.
My Ipad is part of me now. LOL

I wandered over here from another blog... glad I did too. I have never used a kindle or e-reader, but I have just finished re-reading the four Jane Whitefield paperbacks I have on my bookshelf, and Thomas Perry's Butcher's Boy series... and Metzger's Dog. Such a great writer, and I especially love the Jane Whitefield series. Please to hear there is another one and I will be tracking it down soonest

Diane, Remember books on tape?? When I was painting and cleaning here to move in, I have Frank McCourt's books ...I loved everyone of them. I wish he could have written more. But reading a book is better...because some times...I want to re-read a passage. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

Yes, I use our local county library for downloading e-books. The collection is growing all of the time, and it sure is convenient for the residents.

I can't quite get used to e-books. I do love to hold a "real" book in my hands. I thought parts of the cleaning book were a little out there, but it did give me a few very good ideas. I think a book is worth it if I get one great idea from it.
Have a great weekend Diane.

I love my kindle - well actually it was a gift to Don from our son (who works for Amazon Kindle in West Virginia) but he is nice enough to share it with me. One really nice thing about the Kindle Paperwhite is that it is lit and you can read on the deck at night.

I use anytime library for access to our local library - love the ease of searching for books and checking them out to the kindle.

By the way - my book, "Are We Walking to Alaska" is available on kindle too. Isn't modern technology fabulous? Happy weekend my friend.

I've only read one book on my iPad. Guess I still like to hold a "real" book in my hands. I'll have to give the ebooks another try...

I also need to check out more ebooks for my Nook. Shanley's book is being published by an ebook publisher. :)

Shanley and I went to a writers' conference this weekend and I met some very sweet writers, and I brought home some books that look very, very good.

Thanks so much for linking-up to Literary Friday!

xo,
Ricki Jill

I borrow books from the library for my kindle fairly regularly. Do you know about the newsletters that are sent out with free or cheap books?

I was at my library for research lately! They are such a help. We need to visit there more often! I've just read "Home to Chicory Lane" by Deborah Raney and I'll be posting on it soon. I also Read "Breach of Trust" by DiAnn Mills! I have my post ready and I'm waiting for her to answer some questions! :)

This caught my eye when I read the part where Jane is a Seneca Indian. How cool is that! I live in Seneca County in Ohio and this is where those Indians were originally located. In fact, when we bought our land from the seller there was an issue about clear title and deed. We had to go to a lot of meetings and eventually received a Quick Claim Deed from the US government.

I have a Nook and love it. I love real books too but I find e-readers easier on my eyes. These books look very interesting. I might have to check them out. Thanks for sharing.
