Flycatcher sighting

I thought this was the prettiest little bird and he was nice enough to pose on a fence post for me.

And even close enough to some wildflowers in bloom.

We were surprised when we got to the Trail head of Halpata Tastanaki Preserve to find out they had put up a new sign.

Some of my favorite fences are the entrances to my favorite hiking trails!

Fun! I'm only familiar with Scissortail Flycatchers and they have much longer tail feathers. Your hikes are so inspiring. Makes me want to get outside.

Diane, Good to see they are keeping the fence fixed up. I love that little bird. I am already missing our hummingbirds and so many others. Ted has stopped putting sunflower seeds out for a while...so many chipmunks....trying to not lure them here. But I want to see the cardinals again. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Hi Diane! Oh, what a pretty little bird! You did get a good snap of him. Lovely area too. Have you gotten any of the rain that is pounding the south? I haven't been making any doll clothes for awhile but am going to get back to it. Thanks for inviting me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Love flycatchers, they are such beautiful little birds and so fascinating to watch as they dart about catching their meals! Now I know where our flycatchers spend the winter, they head on down to sunny Florida! Deb xo
