I live in North Central Florida, in the Horse Capitol of the World! You can read about our city HERE in Wikipedia.
(this horse was actually scratching it's neck on the fence, do you see the fences in the background?)
We love to drive around and see the gorgeous horse farms. So after a nice walk on Mother's Day, we took a drive just a few miles North of our home to take some photos.
It was a bright day and I liked the way the rows and rows of fences showed up against the green grass.
Beautiful!
And enough fences for a 'month of good fences' so...
I'm joining Tex for Good Fences!

I don't often comment on my own post! But it made me think of the movie where Meg Ryan is singing, 'Horses horses horses'....anyone remember what movie that is? I'll have it stuck in my head all day now! haha! Hugs!!!
And I thought I lived in horse country! You had a beautiful drive.
Wonderful fences, Diane. Horses are so majestic!! Nothing prettier. Have a wonderful day. xo
I think Ocala is the pretest part of central Florida. You got some wonderful shots!
And the movie was Sleepless in Seattle :-)
Beautiful photos. So many fences! Why so much? Different owners? Thank you so much. It's very special.

Diane, this reminds me of Lexington, Ky. We loved to take rides in that part of the state when we lived in KY.
Diane, I love all the fences. It's a beautiful horse ranch. I also love to see pretty horses. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I didn't realize there where so many horses in your area. Gorgeous!!

Lovely photos, thank you for sharing them with us and a bit of history of your area. I had no idea. If asked where the horse capital of the world was, I would probably have answered Kentucky, just because of the Kentucky Derby. I love learning facts like these . . . it helps when Steve and I are watching Jeopardy . . . I love to bet him in answers, LOL. :)
Morning, stunning pictures, love horses and nice fences.Blessings Francine.
I love horses, Diane. Your photos are wonderful! Even when I lived in Brooklyn, NY, there were horse stables nearby. My grandsons are now taking riding lessons, both western and Engkish. They have a lot to learn but really enjoy it.
My goodness - no wonder you are called the Horse Capital of the World. Some fancy fences - and lovely horse photos. Love the colts. We indeed do both have horses in our headers - giddy up!!!! Hope your weekend is as delightful as you my friend.
Hello Diane!:) Fences galore indeed,:)I have never seen so many! You live in a beautiful area, and thank you so much for sharing these lovely horse and fence scenes.
Look at all those fences? The horses are really beautiful and I love how their coats just shine. Beautiful header too. Great photos of this pretty country.
What a fantastic maze. If these fences were hedges I would be completely lost!
beautiful fences and that horse is a beauty!
Great photos with the Derby in the news. That's quite a maze of fences and the horses are beautiful. My kind of Mother's Day.
Goodness there were lots of fences there for sure. Gorgeous horses as well.
These are fantastic, Diane! It reminds me of being at the Kentucky Horse Park last summer except most of the fences there are white ones.Gorgeous shots! Hugs :)
Love black fences against the emerald green grass! For some reason I always think of Kentucky when I see this, but now I know Florida is neck and neck with that state for horses!
Sleepless in Seattle. It's towards the beginning when she's driving in her car and listening to the radio and they are playing Christmas songs. :-)
So lush and green! You could trick me into thinking Kentucky.
I love driving through the Ocala area and seeing all the beautiful horse farms. I don't think I have ever seen so many fences though! Beautiful pictures.
Diane, how wonderful to live in horse country!! The horses are so grand as are those fences!!!
Hugs,
Nancy
I like horse farms too. I've been surprised at how many we have around here.
Wow..Love all the pictures and wish we could ride around here and see scenery as beautiful as yours
I liked the fences, but I couldn't keep my eyes off the horse, it's a beauty! I have a thing for horses, especially white ones, and I noticed that pretty white horse in the background. :)

Beautiful photos, Diane, and a perfect way to spend your Mother's Day.
That's a lot of fence. Very beautiful. Gorgeous horses too.
I love woodpeckers. We have three kinds in my area of Long Island. Have a great day!
I love the photos you took for your Good Fences! Creative and beautiful.
Carla
They are beautiful -- and you do live in beautiful country!
Oh my, I didn't know Ocala was so hot. Born and raised in NJ I missed the four seasons terribly while living in FL. This is about as far south as I want to be, I wanted to move up to Vermont but I was outnumbered on votes. Still hoping - just one more move. But Weaverville is so quaint and friendly, so if I don't get that move I'll be happy here (for now).
Hugs
