Who can I blame? Wendy?

We sometimes blame Wendy for things that go wrong in our house.

I know it's wrong to blame her but she is full of mischief!

And I think she was all set to do her own post when I found her at my computer!

She has been very unhappy wearing a heavy velour outfit in this heat!

So the next thing I found was THIS!

Who can blame her? It's been around 90 degrees for several days now.

Do you find when you don't have a lot of energy that you don't have much enthusiasm either? I have had to take stock of my energy level and figure out what to change. It's too hot to hike and my sweet hubby is working hard on our landscaping right now. So a week ago, I decided to start taking a walk in the evenings and to change my diet. Not 'go on a diet'....just take some of the carbs out and goodies that I like to nibble on. I can't eat sugar but carbs can give me the same bad sugar rush if I eat too many. So I made a change to see if I could boost my energy level and not feel hungry all the time. I've walked 6 days in a row and I feel so much better. I also dressed Wendy in a cooler outfit. I hope she doesn't start watching TV during the day! I have enough bad habits to deal with! hahaha!

Do you link food and exercise to energy and moods? It sure makes a difference in how I feel. The end results make it worth the effort....I keep saying that! (and I won't eat that granola, I'll let hubby have it) Any other 'words of advice'?

Let's call this one 'Wednesday Wee Ones'
just for FUN!!!

Hi Wendy,

Yikes - 90*! Come up here, it's a chilly morning and will be even colder tomorrow morning. I am all bundled up in my blankie.

We would have so much fun, movies, popcorn, snuggling with the puppies and telling secrets and scary stories. It would be beary wonderful.

Stay indoors and be careful.

Are you able to eat fresh fruit? I worry about Shirley because I made her a spring/summer dress, but she really is feling chilly. I may have to make her a stole or something.

O me Diane...I am a carboholic. Really I could live on bread! I do try to get in my 10,000 steps a day to use up some of that carb rush. And I love your little Wendy. We have a good friend who is named that..we really do not hear that name much any more and it is so cute.

Keep doing what you are if it works. Sleep helps, too, which I did not get last night. Coffee to late in the day. Should have known better. Wendy does have mischief in her eye. I'd keep her away from the computer. Can you imagine the secrets that she might divulge? We are working our way to 80 by the weekend, which will dry up all of the good moisture that came last week. Is there a happy medium? Keep on stepping'.

That Wendy is such a trouble maker! LOL.

I'm sorry, but I could go for some 90 degree weather right now. We can barely get out of the 60's.

Diane, I love that doll...she looks real from the back. The cutest little face too. Oh yes, sweetheart, diet /exercise can make or break or moods. I hate that sluggish feeling..to death. I have been talking a krill oil pill for about 3 months now, I think it has been helping me. Smaller than a fish oil pill....easier to swallow.Plus.
My ankles kill me if I walk too much,...but I just keep going. I will take a Tylenol if the pain gets too much at times. I try not to take anything. Oh along with the krill oil I take a gummy woman vitamin..it has bone helping things in it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Aww Diane, 90 degrees sure is hot and I would feel lazy and tired with that kind of weather too. The walking is great. I need to start doing longer walks in the am with Bosco instead of just a 20 minute walk. It has been in the 50's and rainy for the past week. I need sunshine and warmth, LOL!!!
I hope the little tweak in your diet and the walking in the eve. will be better for you.
Take care and enjoy the rest of the week, weekend and have a Happy Mother's Day.
Hugs, Julie xo

That little Wendy is adorable! Such a little troublemaker though!!

The heat really takes it out of me. In fact, I'm almost enjoying the winters now more than the summers, because it can get so humid here in Michigan in the summers, and it just does sap the life out of you!

It sounds like you're making some good changes, Diane. A little protein instead of carbs can keep me from feeling sluggish.

Absolutely- I KNOW that when I eat sugar or heavy carbs I feel 'down' and lose my energy. I am off all sugar, too, and feel so much better. I guess I won't complain about out 50 degree weather...lol...at least we can layer up and be outside. 90 degrees is really warm..and the humidity part is the worst, I think.

Your 'girl' is naughty....lol xo Diana

I just heard today that we need carbs, just not white carbs....white bread, sugar, etc. So for breakfast don't just eat an egg for protein, but eat a slice of whole wheat or whole grain bread with it. Hmmm.

I just had a doughnut. So don't take my advise!

Oh my goodness Wendy - your own post? She does get into a few bits of trouble doesn't she? I bet she is happier with her cooler outfit.

I am sure that food gives us our moods, and if we are not careful they can be "not good" moods. I know that if I've had too many nibbles I start to feel restless and fidgity - so a little exercise does help get rid of the fidgits. I like carbs also - and so have to be careful with my food choices - but a balance is good - carbs and proteins and vegetables - and just a sweet nibble now and then.

Yours is the first blog I've read in over two weeks - so glad I came here first - lovely post my dear friend.

For a very long time we had a dog just like Wendy. His name was Bandit, go figure!

So glad she got some cooler clothes on! I blame the dogs here or the cats. I'm not sure what I'm doing right but I have felt really great and have had more energy than normal or else my stubbornness is just pushing me on. I do think diet and exercise are key though. I don't diet but i try to eat healthy and not "sit" too much during the day. Only at night when my legs are tired out. So glad you're doing so well...you're a smart gal! Hubby needs to be careful out in that heat though.

Looks like Wendy keeps you on your toes! Such heat! I'm sure she's glad for some cooler clothes.
I can't eat very many refined carbs at all or I get sluggish. Exercise definitely helps keep my energy up and my body limber. I do indulge in chocolate, the dark kind, a square or two a day. And my real downfall is (don't tell) potato chips.

Now that Wendy is in a cooler outfit and happily watching the tube I hope she'll quit crying now!
I'm on a pretty limited diet right now due to acid reflux. I haven't noticed anymore energy. I think when I get back to walking it will increase again.

Hi,
I do agree with you.
It seems if I do not exercise, I am stiff and feel lazy.
I think you are right about food too. My go to wake me up is water. I will chug a glass of water with lemon. It usually does the trick.

Keep us posted on your night hikes.

Wendy is precious with her tiny toes peeking out from under her towel. I am sure she will be much happier now with something cooler to wear.

I know what you mean about energy levels and enthusiasm being affected by exercise and diet. For me the lower carb thing worked well for loosing weight. I always felt my very best and full of energy when I was totally off of refined foods of any kind. I did eat a lot of fresh greens and vegetables as well as berries and some citrus every day while living the lower carb life.

Since retiring twenty months ago I have been in a carb eating mode, the weight has piled on and my energy levels are at rock bottom. I don't feel good and I am definitely very unhappy with my chubby shape. It is time to make a change back to a lower carb diet without any refined foods, not because of vanity but to just feel better.

Get nekked, Wendy! :) Ha ha! I don't blame her. When I get hot I get mean. Such a cute post, Diane. Good for you getting active! I'm hoping one day I'll get to go on a walk again.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
