Reaping the Rewards!

Traveling the backroads has it’s rewards.

Imagine our surprise when we passed this beautiful church one day.

churchIMG_0748

And yes…we passed it! We were on our way somewhere else and decided to come back when we had time to take a few photos.

The sky was a pale blue with puffy white clouds and the church couldn’t have been more beautiful.

It is the St. John’s Methodist Church established in 1852.

And if that wasn’t enough!

Hello, it is a beautiful church and I like the cute replica. The tiny one reminds me of a doll house. I also love the crepe myrtle, ours is not blooming yet. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

The church is beautiful, and so high. Did you go inside? I wonder if there are two stories to the church. Very interesting. And what fun to have a model outside.

Such a beautiful church! And the miniature one is just adorable. I would like to go to a service there just to get to see the inside. It must be incredible. Those old churches were built to last!

It always amazes me to see a church that old in such pristine condition. Loving parishioners over the years have kept it, and the grounds up and even built a small replica. How cool is that!
Thanks for linking to the final Mosaic Monday lavender sis. Keep sharing the wonderful things you find on your outings.

With two floors I'm thinking a school in the mix along the way. Not unusual in days gone by. The replica is a nice addition.

I'm so glad you went back and took photos. How charming--and so unique. I wonder what the story is. I wonder if you are up in the mountains now or if that's near where you live.

I've had a few people write to ask where this is. Yes...it's in Florida! West of Ocala on a county road. Thanks for all of the sweet comments. Hugs, Diane

Was it always a church? It looks like a beautiful 2-story home. Is it still used? You find the most beautiful and unusual things on your travels.

Beautiful structure and its miniature replica. Thanks for visiting my blog while I was away. Now I must attack the backlog of correspondence and photo processing which accumulated while I was off line.

My FIL was a Methodist pastor for over 40 years, but none of his churches were this pretty, Diane. The scroll work and the roses are beautiful!
