Summer time FUN!

We don’t get to do any hiking in the summer months here but we do get in the Subaru and take lots of drives.

I just love looking around at the beauty that surrounds us!

I’ve shared some of our sightings in other posts but I always end up with a few photos that don’t ‘fit in’.

So I guess I’ll share a bit of a hodgepodge today.

I think most everything is ‘self explanatory’.

Well maybe I need to mention this is a pink elephant alongside the road!

And do you see what I see in this photo?

Does it look like a monster is coming out of a giant egg right on the river bank?

You just never know! Maybe it IS!!!

Oh my, Diane. I didn't realize that I am so far behind in visiting. I've missed several of you posts. I love the raccoons, but cut as they are, they'd ransack the chicken house here. I will try to be more diligent at getting around. I always enjoy your view on Florida. And thanks for visiting the dollhouse, for it is a quiet little blog that gets little traffic.

Hi There, YES---when we can't hike, we love to get out and take drives also... You got some great and interesting pictures on your drive...

I do have a question for you... Why do you go to FL in Summer? Many people around here who have two homes usually go south in WINTER and north in Summer...

But--we've had a very hot summer (hottest I can remember since moving up here on the Cumberland Plateau in 2003) and it's been VERY dry... SO--even though I have always said that I would never prefer to be in FL in Summer, maybe this summer has changed my mind..... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

No pink elephants in Eugene (yet anyway) and no rock-eating monster fish either. Florida looks beautiful this time of year -- thank you for the update. (Though I can imagine it is not hiking weather there!)

What fun photos, Diane! We have a pink elephant like that in our neighborhood too. Lol Watch out for that sea creature! Have a great weekend.

It's not often one sees a Pink Elephant!
Also in your first shot the cloud looks like a "heart" - How neat is that. - Enjoyed your random photos.

Love the close-up of the lily pad. And yes, well I think so anyway...I see a huge fish-like creature getting ready to gnaw on the 'egg'. To the right? Am I right?

Exceptional wonders ....thanks for taking us along.

Ii love your hodgepodge of photos and thank you for sharing. What I can not understand is how anyone can be brave enough (or foolish enough) to kayak in Florida, don't they know that some of those alligators are bigger than their kayaks?

I haven't seen a pink elephant by the road here yet, but I did see an almost full-size giraffe in the front yard of a house right across the street from a house we were looking at. It would be a hoot to see it everyday when I went to the mailbox!

Did you notice the heart-shaped cloud? Random photos are the best. They are not only pretty, but interesting and filled with wonder. :)

Great diversity - love the pink elephant a lot. I like finding random things - one day I missed my chance - didn't start taking pictures until too late to make anything of it - but as we were taking a drive I kept seeing chairs sitting out beside the road - usually for free or sometimes for a cheap price - all kinds of chairs. I kept saying - maybe today is "put your chairs out" day. Wish I'd taken pictures - it was still fun.
