We were so surprised to find this BIG Katydid in our front shrubs!
Can you find him?
Hubby was doing a little trimming and spotted him before he got ‘trimmed’!
He looked like a leaf from the side!
He really was a beautiful shade of green and the biggest one we’ve ever seen.
Doesn’t he look like he has his ‘angry face’ on here?
And imagine our surprise when he was still there a couple of weeks later! Amazing!
And these photos were taken through the living room window but isn’t this little wren precious?
He’s LOUD too! heehee!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Hello!:) I love all your photos. Well, I'm glad you saw the insect before you cut a limb off! I have done this , and felt so sorry. but they are so difficult to see amongst the greenery. Cute little Wren captures. They are darling birds, and have a beautiful song. Enjoy your weekend Diane. Sending hugs from Portugal.
Diane, Good shots of the katydid and the wren. I am always glad when I see creatures such as the katydid...always afraid they will jump on me. Yikes, my hair is standing up just writing that. LOL. The little wren is precious...I always want to feed the birds. Blessings to you enjoy your weekend, xoxo, Susie
Enjoying photos of your warmer Florida day!
I've heard of Katydids all my live but I think that this is the first time I've seen one :) They look so much like a leave in the shrubs, that I wonder if I've had them around and never noticed. Their good at "hide and seek", LOL
Hello, the katydid is a pretty green. He/she is a big one too. I love the cute wren, they are so cute. Great shots. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. Happy Christmas to you and your family!

Great critters to show today. I guess that katydid likes living next to you!
You take the greatest nature photos and yes, the Katydid did look angry! Well, I guess it's his home and you were invading it. The wren is precious with a little golden breast. I've never see one like that....too cute!
Those Chinese Holly sure are spiny...ouch!
Do that's a katydid! I had no idea. Yes, he looks like an angry professor. The wren is sweet. Hope that she won't eat the professor.
Katydid is well camouflaged! I guess that's a Carolina Wren, isn't it?
Wow !! Beautiful critters !!!!!!
Happy Sunday !
That katydid is humongous!! My goodness.
And to have a wren in your own back yard. Lucky you. All I get are sparrows and doves.
Beautiful images! Many thanks for sharing at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend. Have a glorious week ahead.
Your katydid is amazing. How lovely that it was spotted before the clippers came along. I had to look it up on Goggle though as we do not get many crickets in England.

Hello Diane!
I love watching the birds in your photographs.
They are beautiful.
Greetings.
That wren is, indeed, precious. I was just thinking to myself today while at the trail that some of these birds endure the harshest weather, and still stick around. Gotta love them for that. :)

strange critter you had there. Some kind of grasshopper, or?
hard to see even after you told about it.
I hope that Katydid is grateful that you two saved his life! Your home looks beautiful (in the post above)... I still find it a little difficult to get into the Christmas spirit in this climate.
