The Florida Trails for Hike #49!

We walked through this opening in the fence to hike the Florida Trails last weekend and did our longest hike this month, 2 hours 40 minutes. WHEW! The weather was in the low 70s so it was perfect!

(the white is sand!)

There were lots of small birds flitting about and I even saw a hawk fly low through the trees but I didn’t get any good pics.

It’s enjoyable just to get outside and walk a good trail though.

And nature never disappoints with it’s beauty.

And guess what I got?

New hikers!

I’ve worn a pair of Montrails for all of our hikes and finally went online and ordered a new pair! (I couldn’t find them in the sporting stores in NC where I bought my original pair) This wasn’t my first hike in them but it was the longest and they felt great!

Have you had a chance to get outside and walk this week?

Those pictures remind me of Savannah and Tybee Island. And hey sand could make it a White Christmas. Loved your dollies! I try to stay away from ETSY. It is a challenge to my self control.

Hello, pretty scenes and images from your hike. The nice weather is great for the longer walks. I like your new Montrail shoes. I do not miss the cold weather or the snow. I like the Florida weather. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and weekend.

I'm out there every Sunday (Saturdays are reserved for yard work). Hey, I may be a writer, but I treat it as a M-F 40 hour week. I'll see you on a trail soon.

Diane, I am going to look those shoes up on line. I love that you take hikes and see so many great sights. I am thinking of your 70 degrees as it is 9 degrees here. Brr. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

Wish I could be out there hiking with you. No hiking weather here today, just a lot of wind and rain. Enjoy!

Such a pretty winding trail...makes one want to walk it! One thing is sure...shoes do not last forever.

You are so lucky to be able to do that as often as you do, Diane. No hiking here. I just can't take the cold anymore- it just does me in. Love your new hikers! I am glad they are comfortable. That is the primary thing for a new pair of shoes! Looks come second (unlike a blind date)...lol xo Diana

I can't believe you walked that long, Diane. That's amazing, and you must be in better shape than me cause my feet start to hurt after awhile. I think I need a good pair of walking shoes like these. Your hiking trail looks lovely, and those trees are mysterious, aren't they?

love, Sheri

WELL...if you saw my post before last - all our snow - well, nope, haven't been out a walkin much - save running around to appointments and year-end things and lots and lots and LOTS of Christmas prep...........

I loved you made that beautiful palm tree all Christmassy : - )

It's super duper cold - no clouds - always makes for it really freezing here.

Santa would feel right at home here right now.

Hugs.

It sure makes a difference when you wear good shoes for a hike. Sounds like perfect weather! Have a nice weekend!

Did you research hiking opportunities before you moved there? It just seems like the perfect place for you with fresh fruits and veggies, great thrift stores and also stores like Starbucks and Trader Joes etc. We have no trails here and and it is hours before you would get to any. When I lived up North I walked the gravel roads in farm country which was great and there was always forest preserves nearby where ever I lived. I used to hike in the Amana colonies and palisades etc. but here the asphalt is hard on my legs and the dogs too and the woods are full of ticks and snakes! LOL! I do so much work around here though that I definitely get my exercise. I would be lost without online shopping for sure! But I do miss my Barnes and Noble and Starbucks.

I have been trying to catch up on your posts this week. Your flowers are lovely. Kinda makes me want to move back to Florida. I want to check out the Etsy sites for dolls. I have two granddaughters who still love dolls. We have birds migrating this time of year. Chad took some pictures of them this week. I guess they are headed down to your place. It was 3 degrees here in Ohio this week. Blessings to you.
