We have SO many goldfinches at our feeders right now that it’s inevitable for one of them to hit the living room window. (we tape streamers to it sometimes)
This little guy was pretty stunned.
So hubby gently picked him up and moved him to a grassy spot.
He recovered and flew away!
You never know when life will give you an ‘ouchie’.
But remember Spring is on it’s way and things will look brighter.
Let’s always pray for one another!
This isn’t a great photo but I still thought it was neat to see this bird through the trees in the backyard. I think it’s a seagull.

At my former home we had big windows that reflected the sky and birds were always flying into them. I felt so badly for those little ones. Glad yours recovered and flew off. It could have been worse. BTW that looks like a seagull to me too.

Ouch indeed! No big windows here but I do see my birds at the feeder and it makes me so happy!
we have stickies all over our dining room window, and they still like to fly into it. Breaks my heart. Thankfully I haven't had to have a feathery funeral lately.

Poor little bird. It's so good that your husband helped him. We have a large picture window that a few birds have flown into. Looking forward to Spring also.
We have birds hit the window here. Poor things. They usually do recover. You would think that they would break their neck.
That 'thump' on the deck is a sound we hear occasionally but thank goodness the birdies manage to recover. Sweet pictures of the Finch. One of our favorite birds too.

Diane, We have revived birds here also. :) Even with things to move them away from windows ..some must be tweeting while flying. :) I have taken a picture of an owl, robin and cardinal this morning... The owl shot was too blurry and as I tried to get close it flew away. My daughter said it was a barn owl. Blessings , xoxo, Susie
Life does gives us ouchies, as you put it, Diane! We had a bungalow once and the birds would sometimes mistakenly fly into the large corner windows. Glad this wee one recovered!

Aw, cute and lucky little bird. We had a blackbird fall down the flue into the wood stove. Stayed there few hours until hubby came home, wrapped cloth around him, took outside and set him free. Flew away so far I couldn't see him anymore. :)

Every year it happens here too...even though I have curtains on most of my windows. I don't see Goldfinches down here but we had them up North. Sweet little birds...one of my favs!

I just finished commenting to Judy at Lil Bigs about how all my goldfinches are gone..........we had them by the zillions, seriously, so much that we named our home (and everything else, haha) FINCH REST!
And she's got em and you've got em. At least now I know where they went, haha. Tell them to come back because momma misses them so much.

What a pretty little bird - it is the WA state bird but we rarely see them at our house. We saw a lot of them when we visited eastern Washington. I'm glad he was able to fly away. Happy weekend my friend.
Nice photos. I rescued a robin last year. Put it in a shoe box with a little blanket and watched for predators until it flew away.

I love goldfinches. We do see them around here, they love thistle and the seeds in my flowers - especially the purple cone flowers.

My husband always rushes out to pick up a stunned bird. He holds them, stroking them and keeping them warm. Most of the time it helps. We're having lots of finches here, several kinds. I do love them so much.
And yes, we all need prayers when life gives us ouchies!

Poor birdie -- I'm glad you guys were able to save it. I never see goldfinches over here in this part of the Sunshine State -- we used to have them at our feeders in Oregon all the time --
