"The Blue Clear Sky"

"Here she comes, a walkin' talkin' true love
Sayin' I been lookin' for you love
Surprise, your new love has arrived
Out of the blue clear sky."

I love a little George Strait while I drive. I keep a few of my favorite CDs in my car for my quick trips around town. And I listen to "The Blue Clear Sky" all the time! That's what our skies have been like lately! Mostly CLEAR!

So let's walk to the pond and see what we can see!

These were some of the best photos I've taken of this pair of Hybrid Mallards that live at the pond.

Do you see the setting sun making the grasses look golden?

They were closer to me that evening....

well until they flew into the pond!

And I looked across the way and saw a bird resting on the bank that turned out to be a dove.

This one was in a dark spot in the tall grasses but I'm pretty sure it's a Green Heron.

And no doubt that this is a Red Winged Blackbird.

I love the ducks best! How about you?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Great pics as always. My favorite are the mourning dove....I just found out a little while ago and that all my life I thought they were 'morning' doves! LOL! As a child I remember their 'cooing' at night when I was going to sleep....also the red winged blackbird brings back fond memories. That must be a young one as the colors are so vibrant or is it your great camera? Have a good day!

We have had boatloads of rain so walking vicariously with you is a treat. (I think today I'll get out finally!) What lovely birds!

I'm rather drawn to the red-wing blackbird, actually. Now I want to hear that melody so will zip off to You Tube. Hope you get some rain...gentle rain. I'd be happy to share. 💦☔️💦

Diane, Such great photos. I like to hear the red winged blackbird. My daughter Kathy says when she hears it in March or April...she know it's springtime. We have one nesting near by, as I hear him in my neighbor's apple tree. Glad you have good weather. It is sunny here now and girl, you know I am loving that. Thank you for the prayers. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Wonderful photos. You got some great ones of the ducks.
Sometimes I miss the lake I walked around each morning where I used to live.

I am always amazed at what great bird pictures you take. I just get the bird in my viewfinder and it flies away.

I love ducks! If we had a natural pond here, I'd have a duck house with a few dozen.

Love seeing all the ducks and birds. My favorite has to be the red-wing. I just love their songs. Reminds me of my childhood, living near the little pond. x Karen

Oh, and by the way...LOVE G. Strait. Wish he never retired. My favorite is Amarillo by Morning.

Before I leave, I'd like to send along my thanks for sharing this with us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend!! Have a glorious week ahead.

that sure is a great place to go walking! I enjoy seeing all the pictures you share with us from this area.
We saw a BALD EAGLE fly over us today!!!!!!! Mercy we got so excited--we've been trying for a long time to spot one and today we were outside doing yard/porch work and looked up and there it swooped!!!! I would never have been quick enough to capture it on camera but it sure was neat!
How was your weekend my friend?
